Deadline.com reports that Sony Pictures, MGM, and Eon Productions have officially announced that the 23rd James Bond picture, SKYFALL, is the biggest grossing film in the history of the franchise. A source with Sony Pictures told Deadline, “We are off to an amazing start.'

The latest installment in the James Bond franchise, SKYFALL, and the third in Daniel Craig's repetoire, brought in $87.7 million in its first three days - the biggest opening for a James Bond film ever- plus $2.2 million during Thursday night previews alone. Craig's previous Bond outing, QUANTUM OF SOLACE, broke the Bond record in 2008, earning $67.5 million during its opening weekend.

Sony and MGM's SKYFALL, the latest installment in the James Bond franchise, brought in a whopping $156 million this weekend in the international market. Since its release on Oct. 26, the film has netted over $287 million.

Deadline reports that the latest film in the James Bond franchise, SKYFALL, has now surpassed Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as the biggest 7-day gross of all time in the UK, with box office takes totaling $59.86M.

John Logan - the writer of James Bond's upcoming SKYFALL - has officially pitched and sold Bond 24 and 25 to Bond bosses Barbara Broccoli Michael Wilson. The next two films will tell a two-part story with Daniel Craig reprising his role of 007. It's tentatively set for a 2014 release.

The Daily Mail reports that the currently untitled next JAMES BOND movie is set to start shooting next fall at Pinewood Studios with a target release date of fall 2014.
