DRACULA, Accompanied by Kronos Quartet, to Haunt Segerstrom Center

The Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Segerstrom Center for the Arts will co-present Tod Browning's 1931 film classic DRACULA starring Bela Lugosi with original music by Philip Glass performed live by the legendary composer at the piano, the Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet, with Michael Riesman directing from the keyboard.

Daniel and Kevin have formed the new band POPTONE which embraces all aspects of their careers - from the legendary Bauhaus, timeless band Tones on Tail and chart-topping alt-rockers Love and Rockets.  Joined by Haskins' daughter Diva Dompe, Poptone has already announced two now-sold-out Los Angeles concerts with more dates to be announced.

Phillip Glass to Hold Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair at Carnegie Hall in Celebration of 80th Birthday

In celebration of his 80th birthday year, esteemed American composer Philip Glass has been appointed to hold the Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair at Carnegie Hall for the 2017-2018 season. The yearlong residency will present performances that feature both Glass classics and premieres: American Composers Orchestra dedicates a program to composers inspired by Glass; the Philip Glass Ensemble and the San Francisco Girls Chorus perform his groundbreaking but rarely performed masterpiece, Music with Changing Parts, as part of the citywide festival The '60s: The Years that Changed America; notable premieres include a string quartet for the JACK Quartet and arrangements by composer Nico Muhly of lesser-known Glass songs-both Carnegie Hall commissions; additionally, the Louisiana Philharmonic andPacific Symphony both make their Carnegie Hall debuts in programs selected, in part, by Glass in response to invitations extended to U.S. orchestras to submit programs that place important works by the composer in illuminating contexts. One of America's most esteemed composers, Philip Glass, celebrates his 80th birthday this January, a milestone that will be marked by a year of notable performances and events encompassing every facet of his career—opera, chamber music, orchestra music, dance, theatre works and more. Highlights follow, with additional events and honors to be announced throughout the season.

Los Angeles Opera Presents 1922 Horror Film NOSFERATU Featuring Live Performance of New Score by Matthew Aucoin

LA Opera will celebrate Halloween with two screenings of the 1922 silent classic Nosferatu, featuring a new score created by Matthew Aucoin, the company's new Artist in Residence. One of the greatest horror films ever made, the supremely creepy vampire thriller will be accompanied live by Mr. Aucoin conducting a chamber ensemble of musicians from the LA Opera Orchestra and soprano soloist Liv Redpath, a member of the company's Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program. Presented as part of the company's Off Grand initiative, the screenings will take place on October 29 and 31 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel.

East Lynne Theater Company to Present DRACULA

The quiet English countryside changed with the arrival of its newest neighbor, Count Dracula. Even Lucy Seward, the daughter of the psychiatrist in charge of the local sanitorium, is behaving strangely. Her mysterious oddities are noticed by Jonathan Harker, the man who loves her, and her father who sends for Dr. Van Helsing. Van Helsing believes Lucy might be a victim of a ghost that sucks blood at night from its victims.
