Plácido Domingo, LA Opera's Eli and Edythe Broad General Director, has announced the company's 2015/16 season. This will be the 30th season presented by the company, created by Mr. Domingo in collaboration with Richard Seaver Music Director James Conlon and President and CEOChristopher Koelsch. The company's 30th anniversary season will include six mainstage productions and two concerts at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, with a total of 40 performances taking place in that venue, as well as 13 performances presented elsewhere through the company's Off Grand initiative. The season will open onSeptember 12, 2015, and will run through June 19, 2016.

Set in the rolling hills of the Italian countryside, Donizetti's timeless romantic comedy opens tonight, January 24 at the Ordway Music Theater in St. Paul for five performances. In the opera, American soprano Nicole Cabell stars as the beautiful and wealthy Adina, doggedly pursued by the love-struck Nemorino, a handsome but simple peasant sung by Italian American tenor Leonardo Capalbo.
(WASHINGTON)—Washington National Opera (WNO) celebrates its seventh season of free opera simulcasts at Nationals Park with the M&M'S® Opera in the Outfield performance of Rossini's romantic comedy Cinderella on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Gates open at 5 p.m. for “pregame” activities for the entire family, and the opera will be broadcast live from the Kennedy Center Opera House to the high-definition NatsHD scoreboard at 7 p.m. Free seating will be available on the outfield grass and in the stands. The event will take place rain or shine—in case of inclement weather, some covered seating is available.

Shen Yun Performing Arts creates a new production every year with five separate casts that tour the world and will appear in Hollywood, Northridge, Costa Mesa, Thousand Oaks, and Long Beach this January and February for its ninth annual production in Southern California. In the past three years the show has sold out every Los Angeles area performance.
The Wednesday Night Concert Series at Performance Network continues with three free readings on February 4, February 11 and February 25 each at 7:30pm. On the 4th, patrons will enjoy a musically heightened table reading of Dan Bilich's new work "7.4 The Ballad of Mrs. Maloney." On the 11th, there will be a reading of "Gidion's Knot" by Johnna Adams, and on the 25th, it will be "The Most Dangerous Highway In The World" by Kevin Artigue. Each reading is free to the public and there will be a talkback after each performance. The Wednesday Night Concert Series offers concert readings of plays and musicals, including new works, in an intimate setting. That was the takeaway from the new production--that centers on a fictional battle royal between Elizabeth I (Elisabetta) and her cousin Mary (Maria) Stuart, better known as Mary, Queen of Scots--at Barcelona's historic opera house, the Liceu. It stars the sensational Maria of American mezzo Joyce DiDonato, the highly charged Elisabetta of Spanish mezzo Silvia Tro Santafé and Mexican tenor Javier Camarena's sonorous Roberto.
