Pittsburgh CLO has announced casting for its summer season, which includes six shows, featuring the national tours of Come Fly Away and The Addams Family, and CLO original productions of A Chorus Line, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof and Sunset Boulevard. Notably, A CHORUS LINE brings on board a slew of the show's national tour veterans, ANNIE stars Sally Struthers as Miss Hannigan, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF features Broadway's Lewis J. Stadlen, Susan Cella, Hunter Herdlicka, Joel Robertson, Emily Shoolin and Kay Walbye. Liz Callaway and Walter Charles are set to star in SUNSET BOULEVARD.

Student winners of the North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) 4th annual Spotlight Awards were announced at an exciting Tony® Award-style program on the NSMT main stage Tuesday, June 2, 2009. The NSMT Spotlight Awards program is designed to honor the accomplishments of high school students and teachers as well as encourage them to achieve the highest levels of excellence in musical theater. This year's program included 22 high schools and over 1,000 students vying for 15 awards, including the prestigious award for Best Overall Musical, and a chance to participate in the first National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York City.
North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) announces the nominees for the 4th annual NSMT Spotlight Awards. The Tony® Award style program is designed to honor the accomplishments of high school students and teachers as well as encourage them to achieve the highest levels of excellence in musical theater. North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) officials announced a turn-around plan today that would deliver a six-show musical theater season, along with its traditional production of A Christmas Carol and other concerts and educational programs, at nearly half the cost of previous seasons, a $4-million savings in annual expenses. The plan?s success hinges on the theater?s ability to raise $2 million in donations by this July to jumpstart a new business model and launch a 2009 season.

NSMT alumni from Broadway and the NYC television community will be appearing at Joe's Pub and The theatre at Saint Peters, home of The York Theatre Company in New York City.The not-for-profit North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) in Beverly, MA is facing severe financial difficulties. The NSMT has provided performing arts and educational programming to millions for 55 years. Effects of the crumpling economy, lower than expected donations and ticket sales all season long have left the theatre unable to cover its operating costs - a national decade-long trend that is impacting theaters across the country. In light of the current situation, the NSMT alumni from Broadway and the NYC television community will be appearing at Joe's Pub. Brian Usifer and select members of the NSMT orchestra will play as well.
The not-for-profit North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT), faced with reality of the current economic crisis, announced today that without immediate philanthropic support it will close its doors after 55 years of providing performing arts and educational programming to millions. The Theatre's leadership is urging the public to show its support by purchasing tickets to the remaining 13 performances of Disney High School Musical 2, which runs through January 11th. Additionally, philanthropic gifts can be made via the Theatre's secure website at www.NSMT.org or through the Box Office at 978-232-7200.
