Jeremie Bracka's ARAFAT IN THERAPY Comes to United Solo, Now thru 11/4

Described as a 'comic genius: Australian actor/comic, writer and human rights attorney, Jeremie Bracka, who won rave reviews from theatre critics and standing ovations from audiences when he first appeared in New York City at the 2007 NY International Fringe Festival in his one-man tour de force, Enough About Me•••••Let's Talk about Jew! returns to the New York stage with his newest international hit, Arafat in Therapy, for three performances only at New York's 2013 United Solo Theatre Festival on Theatre Row tonight, October 29 at 9 PM, Sunday, Nov. 3 at 6 PM and Sunday Nov. 4 at 6 PM. (Note: The performances on Sunday, Oct. 29 and Nov. 3 are virtually sold out; tickets for Sunday, Nov. 4 at 6 PM are available.)

Dame Edna's EAT PRAY LOVE! Tour Hits West End Tonight

Barry Humphries' Eat Pray Love! tour will set out across the UK this fall. Directed by Simon Phillips, the show will, of course, feature Humphries' well-known alter ego 'Dame Edna Everage'.

Bernadette Robinson to Return to Queensland Performing Arts Centre, 11/8

One of Australia's leading onstage performers, Bernadette Robinson is returning to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) for one night only on Friday 8 November 2013, to perform live in concert, on the Concert Hallstage. Bernadette Robinson: Live in Concert will see Robinson accompanied by Paul Noonan on piano perform songs made famous by Edith Piaf, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, Billie Holliday and Maria Callas including outrageous send-ups of well-known stars of stage and screen, bringing to life those towering talents long since passed.

New Hamer Hall Celebrates 'First' Anniversary

Almost 400,000 people have attended concerts at Arts Centre Melbourne's new Hamer Hall since it re-opened last July 26, roundly cementing its reputation as the 'people's concert hall'. In this time, its stage has been shared by international stars such as k. d. lang and Kristin Chenoweth, and Australian luminaries like Barry Humphries and Meow Meow, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and some great community celebrations.

Arts Centre Melbourne Acquires Opera Australia Archives

Arts Centre Melbourne and Opera Australia have announced plans to ensure the preservation of Opera Australia's substantial archive of production, performance and company material - including costumes from the Dame Joan Sutherland Archive - through a new ongoing donation agreement with Arts Centre Melbourne's Performing Arts Collection. The new agreement will ensure that the history, repertoire and stage magic of Australia's pre-eminent opera company will be preserved in perpetuity.

Iain Grandage, Ilbijerri Theatre and Philip Rolfe Receive 2013 Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards

Musician, composer and collaborator extraordinaire, Iain Grandage has taken out the 2013 Sidney Myer Performing Arts Individual Award ($50,000) while leading Indigenous theatre company, Ilbijerri, whose work is capturing national attention, has been recognised with the Group Award ($80,000). Philip Rolfe, producer, festival director, bureaucrat and cultural industry shape-shifter has been awarded the Facilitator's Prize ($20,000).

Dame Edna's EAT PRAY LOVE! Tour to Hit West End, Fall 2013

According to the Daily Mail, Barry Humphries' Eat Pray Love! tour will set out across the UK next fall. Eat Pray Love! is set to launch at Milton Keynes Theatre, running October 23-26, continue on to the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff from October 30-November 2, and travel to Edinburgh's Festival Theatre from November 2 through 9, with a final transfer to the West End.

New Yorker's John Lahr to End Run as Critic; Begin Profiles

The New Yorker has just announced that after twenty years as the publication's chief theatre critic, John Lahr will give up regular reviewing to focus on the profiles he also contributes to the magazine, as well as book projects.

Advance Tickets for THE HOBBIT Go On Sale This Wednesday, 11/7

As Deadline reported this weekend, advanced tickets to Peter Jackson's upcoming, sprawling epic THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY are set to go on sale this Wednesday, Nov. 7. Tickets are available online or at theater box offices beginning at 12 PM Eastern Time. The film opens Dec. 14.

Adelaide Festival's Centre Presents 2013 Season
