On October 12, CRAFT RECORDINGS will re-release iconic folk singer JOAN BAEZ's self-titled debut album both on vinyl and digitally. Recorded in the summer of 1960, Joan Baez's first record introduced the world to the pure and soaring soprano of a then-19-year-old folk singer, who had recently come to prominence after the 1959 Newport Folk Festival.

The Television Academy tonight presented the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday night honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Saturday ceremony, which kicked-off the 70th Emmys, awarded many talented artists and craftspeople in the categories of animation, scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Sunday ceremony honored performers, artists and craftspeople for excellence in variety, nonfiction or reality programming, reality competition programming, music, choreography, as well as documentary or nonfiction specials, informational series or specials.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) opens its 2018-19 season with Frank Galati's award-winning adaptation of John Steinbeck's, "The Grapes of Wrath." Gary English will direct. Green Room 42 and Iris Productions present YOUNG, GIFTED, AND BLACK, an evening celebrating both black excellence and the black experience. On Tuesday, September 18th at 7PM, head to Green Room 42 to hear some of New York's finest known and unknown talent singing songs from the heart and full of soul.

The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, a program within the College of Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts at Wayne State University, is excited to launch the 2018-2019 season with the three-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "Avenue Q," an uproarious adult parody of children's puppet shows like "Sesame Street", "The Muppets", and "Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood".  Created by by duo Robert Lopez ("Book of Mormon", "Frozen", "Coco") and Jeff Marx, "Avenue Q" has been shocking and delighting audiences since its premier in 2003.  This modern classic won three Tony Awards, including the "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book.
