Continuing its commitment to timely and thought-provoking programming, HBO will debut a diverse array of documentaries in coming months, including: THE JINX: THE LIFE AND DEATHS OF ROBERT DURST, the highly anticipated Sunday-night series from Oscar nominee Andrew Jarecki; Oscar winner Alex Gibney's GOING CLEAR: SCIENTOLOGY AND THE PRISON OF BELIEF, a look inside the controversial religion; and Brett Morgen's KURT COBAIN: MONTAGE OF HECK, the first fully-authorized documentary about the iconic leader of Nirvana.

As previously reported, Liza Minnelli recently announced her full recovery from her back surgery and gave a surprise performance in Hollywood earlier this month. The 68-year-old appeared on stage at Cortes Alexander's annual holiday show at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal in Hollywood, CA, on December 22 to support her close friend. The star went on to perform a duet of 'I Love a Violin' with Alexander and received a standing ovation from the enthusiastic crowd, which included Barbra Streisand's son Jason Gould and half-sister Roslyn Kind. Today in 1940, Pal oey opened at Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Pal Joey is a musical with a book by John O'Hara (from his novel of the same title) and music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart based on a character and situations O'Hara created in a series of short stories published in The New Yorker. It includes two songs that have become standards: 'I Could Write a Book' and 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered'.
