When embarking upon her latest album, Encore, icon Barbra Streisand was inspired by one of Broadway's favorite leading men, Hugh Jackman. In her latest interview with 60 Minutes, Streisand discusses how Jackman's voice was the starting point for the album's core concept: creating 'mini scenes' through dialogue and duets with film stars. On the album, Streisand and Jackman sing the previously unproduced 'Any Moment Now' by the late, celebrated composer Marvin Hamlisch. This rendition of the song tells the story of a couple that has reached the breaking point in their marriage, and the video features clips from Streisand and Jackman's recording session for the track. 

As part of her exclusive 60 Minutes interview to promote her new album, Encore, Barbra Streisand recently visited her former Funny Girl dressing room at the Winter Garden Theater. At the time, the dressing room was occupied by School of Rock star Sierra Boggess, who recently departed the newest Andrew Lloyd Webber musical to star in a Paris production of Phantom of the Opera. 

During the show, the Grammy winner returned to the Winter Garden Theater, where she starred in 1964's FUNNY GIRL, visited Sardi's, walked the theatre district and talked about getting started in the business, her family, and life in Malibu, California. Streisand shares her thoughts on singing and her new album, 'ENCORE: Movie Partners Sing Broadway,' which is available now.

MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund) announced today that George Clooney will host "Hollywood's Night Under The Stars," an evening of musical performances and special presentations celebrating their 95th year of helping those who entertain us.  Matt Bomer, Yvette Nicole Brown, Michael Douglas, Derek Hough, Hugh Jackman, Norm Lewis, Jane Lynch, Johnny Mathis, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Anika Noni Rose, and Catherine Zeta-Jones are also set to appear at the event, which will take place on Saturday, October 1 at the MPTF Wasserman Campus in Woodland Hills, CA.  It is presented by AARP Foundation, American Express®, Delta Air Lines, and Target, with in-kind support from Heineken, Monsieur Marcel, Red Truck, and Sprinkles. 

Though she has appeared on Broadway only twice during her legendary career (Funny Girl and I Can Get It For You Wholesale), there is no denying that Barbra Streisand is beloved by theatre fans everywhere. She has famously crooned standards from every show from Guys and Dolls to Sweeney Todd, and she's not finished yet.
