DC's In Series Names Timothy Nelson As Next Artistic Director

Concluding an international search, the board of directors of the In Series - Opera & More has chosen stage director and conductor Timothy Nelson as the new Artistic Director of the nonprofit organization. Nelson succeeds Founding Artistic Director and Executive Producer Carla Hubner, who will retire at the end of the current 'Legacy' season, the company's 36th under her leadership including three decades of producing a signature brand of pocket opera.

Lookingglass Announces Season of World Premieres

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces its complete 2018-2019 season lineup. The season begins with the World Premiere of The Steadfast Tin Soldier: A Christmas Pantomime, conceived and directed by Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman from the story by Hans Christian Andersen. Following The Steadfast Tin Soldier is the World Premiere of Act(s) of God written by Ensemble Member Kareem Bandealy and directed by Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman.

Tony-Nominated Loretta Ables Sayre To Celebrate 60th Birthday At Blue Note Hawaii

Tony-nominated Broadway actress Loretta Ables Sayre will celebrate her 60th birthday at Blue Note Hawaii in Waikiki on April 1 [her actual birthday] with shows at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Ables Sayre's performances will feature jazz standard selections from the Great American Songbook. Joining Loretta will be Hawaii-based musicians Jim Howard on piano, Dean Taba on bass and Darryl Pellegrini on drums. In addition, she will be joined by special guest artist Robert Cazimero.

Cast Announced For Opera North's Sizzling Production Of KISS ME, KATE

An outstanding cast has been announced for the return of Opera North's award-winning production of Cole Porter's classic musical comedy, Kiss Me, Kate, opening at Leeds Grand Theatre in May, then touring to the Ravenna Festival, to the London Coliseum for a two-week run in June, and moving to the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh in July.

Today, Elaine Paige and Alexandra Burke announced the nominations for the Olivier Awards 2018 with Mastercard, UK's most prestigious stage honours. The 2018 awards are set to be an exciting occasion with original new work dominating the categories and a significant number of artists receiving their first ever Olivier nominations. Catherine Tate will host the Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 8 April and they will be broadcast to the UK and worldwide.
