St. Louis Area Native Lands Role in JUNIE B. JONES National Tour

You might recognize Ian from this summer as Scarecrow in The Black Rep's production of The Wiz, performed at The Grandel Theatre in St. Louis. "I am extremely ecstatic and can't wait to start rehearsals! This is truly a blessing," says the Belleville native and actor Ian Coulter-Buford. Ian will be starring as Sheldon Potts & Others in the Junie B. Jones musical, directed and choreographed by Broadway's own Robert Tatad (Rock of Ages, Funny Girl,Dreamgirls.) The show is produced by New York City's prime young audience theatre company, TheatreworksUSA. The show is based off of witty first-grader Junie B. & friends from three of Barbara Parks' books in the series, including Junie B., First Grader (at Last!), Junie B., Boss of Lunch, and Junie B. One-Man Band. The tour is set to run from January to June 2014, locations to be announced once confirmed. The tentative schedule boasts venues in the Midwest, East Coast, South, and Canada!

GO DOG GO, THE STAR STEALER & More Set for Maryland Ensemble Theatre's Fun Company 2013-14 Season

Maryland Ensemble Theatre's family theatreThe Fun Company is proud to announce its upcoming season of four plays that are guaranteed to delight theatergoers of all ages. The season includes a musical version of a children's classic, a World Premiere original play, an adaptation of one of the most popular series of children's books and building on the success of the last few season, another commedia dell'arte piece. Fun Company Artistic Director, Julie Herber is as excited as ever for the upcoming season, 'We have some really popular titles this year that families will be familiar with but we also have a great original story as well.'

PETER PAN & More Set for 2013-2014 Pittsburgh International Children's Theater Family Series

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is pleased to announce the 2013-2014 Pittsburgh International Children's Theater Family Series. Now in its 44th season, the Family Series will present award-winning, professional theater companies featuring live performances for young audiences ages 3 and up. Performances based on prize-winning and popular children's books adapted for the stage by Theatreworks USA (USA), Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia (Canada), and Big Wooden Horse Theatre Company (UK) can be seen at various locations throughout the Pittsburgh area. Hand Made Theatre (Russia) will present a U.S. premiere choreography that creates a magical world of trains, boats, ticking clocks, flocks of birds and more. New to the 2013-2014 Family Series is a series special, Junie B. Jones by Theatreworks USA. School matinee performances for some shows will be held on Mondays at 10:15 a.m., at the Byham Theater.

BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in lower Manhattan, presents two TheatreworksUSA productions: Junie B. Jones, performing today, May 19 at 3PM and Click, Clack, Moo, performing on Saturday, June 1 at 1:30PM. Both shows are part of BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center's Family Theater Season, featuring plays, musicals, puppetry, concerts and dance for all ages.

Westport Country Playhouse Announces 2012-13 Family Festivities Series

Westport Country Playhouse has announced its 2012-13 Family Festivities Series, featuring song-filled presentations based on popular children's books, on selected Sundays from November through April, 1 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $18. Family Festivities is supported in part by a contribution from the First Niagara Bank Foundation. Family Festivities Partners are Meredith and David Bukzin.
