In its ongoing efforts to combat bullying, the hit Broadway musical WICKED will host a special event on Thursday, October 11, featuring two leaders in the worldwide campaign to bring an end to bullying: Ben Cohen, MBE, founder of The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation, and Dan Savage, co-founder of The It Gets Better Project. Mr. Cohen and Mr. Savage will be joined by members of the WICKED company for a post-performance talk-back to discuss what can be done to help stop the prevalence of bullying.

Tune in to PBS on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 8 p.m.* for Live From Lincoln Center's telecast of the New York Philharmonic's Opening Gala conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert. The program will feature world famous violinist Itzhak Perlman performing personal favorites including Williams' Theme from Schindler's List and Massenet's "Meditation from Tha?s, as well as works by Sarasate, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov. The broadcast, which features extended artist profiles, will also include Respighi's celebrated Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome.

Delta Rae have announced that they've been selected to perform at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina tonight, September 6th. Calling it a 'tribute to the dynamic convention host state,' the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) announced that the band will join the lineup of fellow North Carolina artist, James Taylor for festivities that will precede President Obama's nomination acceptance speech at the Bank of America Stadium.

Original Celtic Thunder vocalist Paul Byrom decided in Fall of 2010 to leave the group, in order to re-locate to the States and launch his worldwide solo career with a new solo recording. The resulting album, THIS IS THE MOMENT has been released and is available online and at all shows. Byrom's concert tour will take him to the New York area on Sept 21, 2012. He will be at B.B. Kings Blues Club and Grill.

Academy Award-winning actor Clint Eastwood took to the podium last night at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL to throw his support behind recently nominated candidate Mitt Romney. During the speech, Eastwood, who served briefly as the mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, had an awkward 'conversation' with an invisible President Barack Obama in an empty chair.
