Award Winning Musical AYN RAND IN LOVE Debuts at MCL Chicago

MCL Chicago Artistic Director Alex Garday is proud to present a world premiere comedic musical Ayn Rand in Love as part of the summer series. Ayn Rand in Love tells the story of a young Ayn Rand falling in what one would call love (she would not) with the charismatic Frank O'Connor. Taking some truth from her early days working with MGM Studios, the musical has all the glitz and glamour of an MGM classic of the late 1920s. When Ayn Rand sees something of value to her, she knows how to get it and a job at MGM, Frank O'Connor, and another lover are no exception. The production runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.

Serge Alexandr Releases First Book, THE RISE OF ARES

Serge Alexandr is bursting onto the scene with his debut novel The Rise of Ares: Mortal Sins, the first installment in the Ares trilogy. The Rise of Ares is a story ripe for the times, exploring a future society that never addressed the social issues we see today, and what it means to be highly technologically advanced in a world where inequality exists. Serge Alexandr paints a realistic, terrifyingly believable future in which financial inequality has quite literally split the race into two-those that can afford genetic manipulation and those that cannot. Ares, the main character, is forced on a journey across a solar system filled with engineering marvels and social atrocities as he tries to flee the Bank for default, where, beneath the shiny veneer of the inner solar system, we find a society on the verge of change, plagued by dissonance, decadence, hidden AI, and strange rumors from the fringes of the outer system. But there is nowhere to hide in a universe where everything, and everyone, is an eye. Ares soon discovers there is more to the events in his life than he ever realized. That realization, that he is a pawn in a game he can't even fathom, sends him spiraling down a slow, dark, madness. The exorbitant characters very much drive the story as they rampage through the solar system in pursuit of power and wealth. Sure to be a classic, The Rise of Ares can be found at most major retailers, or on the author's website, sergealexandr.com. 'A fresh, thought provoking, and exhilarating read. The universe Serge creates is both a backdrop for the roller coaster storyline, and an eye opening commentary on humanity: not only of our struggle with existence, but with our technology, forms of economy and governance, and even equality. It's what you'd imagine if H.G.Wells, Isaac Asimov, and Ayn Rand were alive today and collaborated.' -JH About the Author-Serge Alexandr resides in the Pacific Northwest, where he can be found hiking, painting, and writing. Political Author Jean Sarantos Pens CRUSH! CRUSH! CRUSH! Book

Political author, Jean Sarantos, in her new book entitled, 'Crush! Crush! Crush! (Heads, I Win. Tails, You Die!),' has turned a 'spotlight' on the economically and politically connected wealthy 1%. The book reveals the inner thinking and overt actions of the very powerful and wealthy wherever they exist anywhere throughout the world and throughout history. Sarantos has devised a creative device for telling their story. A fictional member of this elite has written an 'autobiography' that proudly reveals and explains all that is necessary to understand how he and his like-minded friends have risen to the top of the economic and political food chain. The philosophy for their modus operandi is the same as that of the Rulers in the popular motion picture, 'The Hunger Games': I am a predator. You are my prey. I take whatever I want. I route the flow of wealth from you to me. I suppress all efforts to challenge me. If you resist, I will crush you. 'Crush! Crush! Crush! (Heads, I Win. Tails, You Die!)' provides details and helps 'flesh out' and demonstrate this philosophy. It will help the reader to interpret and understand current events and to help make sense of the turmoil reported in everyday news stories. Thus, the reader will have a tool for understanding all current events. Furthermore, one of the 2016 Best Picture Oscar nominated feature films, 'Spotlight', exposes how the most powerful and prominent Catholic Church clerical elite and leading officials unbelievably systematically attempted to suppress their covering up of widespread and known sexual abuse of thousands of minor children. Author, Ms. Jean Sarantos, has rejected traditional interpretations of historical events learned in public schools and universities. She earned a B. A. degree in Political Science from Michigan State University and earned an M.A. degree in Political Science from The University of Michigan. However, the establishment's 'spoon-fed' limited pursuit of the truth fell far short of reality. Therefore, the author has researched and provided 150 citations, including many current sources provided to help interpret history and current events. Thucydides, Thoreau, Melville, Churchill, Kissinger, Ayn Rand, Robert Reich, Nomi Prins, and Matt Taibbi [whose kind words encouraged the author], are quoted to bolster the author's assertions. 'Crush! Crush! Crush! (Heads, I Win. Tails, You Die!)' is written in a lively manner with cartoons and limericks. Sarantos earned the honor of 'Professor of the Year for Academic Excellence' at Westfield State College (MA) and has completed over thirty years as an educator in public education. She has also published the book, 'It Takes a Potemkin Village (To Raise a Child's Test Scores)' [currently out of print] which revealed systematic cheating by public school administrators.
