Whether you love 'em or hate 'em, the more you know about Shakespeare and Broadway musicals, the more SOMETHING ROTTEN will have you laughing out loud.

Nipping at the heels of the wildly outrageous, yet hilarious, comedies such as 'The Book of Mormon' and 'Spamalot,' this national tour cast of 'Something Rotten' serves up a fun take on musicals at the turn of the century-the 17th century, that is.

The completely original new musical Something Rotten!, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), with music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award and Tony Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Tony Award nominees Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell, opens at The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on May 1-6, 2018.

No matter how much you love your significant other, chances are that eventually you are going to need some time apart. However, for real-life married couple Maggie Lakis and Rob McClure, that's not so easy. That's because Maggie and Rob play the fictional married couple Bea and Nick Bottom in the first national tour of the hit musical SOMETHING ROTTEN, which comes to Orlando's Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts from April 24-29.

Oh, remember those great mega-musicals from the 90's? There was LES MISERABLES AND PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and OMELETTE: MUSICAL...Well OMELETTE was the little known musical from the 1590's, not 1990's, that is the subject of the riotous National Tour now playing at Shea's Buffalo Theatre, aptly named SOMETHING ROTTEN!

'Come on down!' On today's very special episode of THE PRICE IS RIGHT, the national touring company of SOMETHING ROTTEN pops up in the audience, and makes their presence known. One of the show's stars, Autumn Hurlbert (who plays Portia) talked to BroadwayWorld and BroadwayRadio's Matt Tamanini for today's episode of 'Today on Broadway.' In the interview, she talked about having her son and husband on the road with her, her fangirling over seeing her co-star Adam Pascal sing 'One Song Glory,' and how her LEGALLY BLONDE reality show experience made her very good at keeping any secrets that need to be kept for THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

Sometimes touring productions of Broadway musicals are better than their original versions. When I first saw the Tony Award nominated musical Something Rotten in NYC, I found it to be forced and too over-the-top. The current touring production, now playing DC's National Theatre, features a cast that some might say is even better than the original. While all the laughs are still there, everything feels more natural.

But through it all we've had several shows that have proven to shine as some of the best of the year. Out of all the shows I was fortunate enough to see this year, I've selected a few that stood out.
