Called “the best looking fantasy series on TV” (IGN) and “damn fine television” (Collider), MTV's hit show THE SHANNARA CHONICLES Season One arrives on DVD June 7, 2016.

The premiere of MTV's hit new sci-fi fantasy series THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES unearthed epic viewership numbers, with the premiere event reaching 7.5 million total L+3 viewers across all airings, including an average 1.9 million L+3 viewers for the premiere telecast on MTV.

 DALLAS, TX, December 8, 2015 – The Dallas Opera will present opera legend Frederica von Stade, mezzo-soprano, for another magnificent performance in The Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Art Song Recital Series. The one-time-only recital will be presented Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at City Performance Hall (a 749-seat venue located at 2520 Flora Street in the Arts District, Dallas, TX 75201). Also featured at the exclusive event will be Jake Heggie, composer (Great Scott, Moby-Dick) and accomplished pianist, who has had a long-standing artistic collaboration with Miss von Stade.

 MTV today announced that its forthcoming epic fantasy series “The Shannara Chronicles” will premiere in January 2016. The network made the announcement during the first-ever Comic-Con panel for the series, which is based on author Terry Brooks' international best-selling novels. Production for “The Shannara Chronicles” wrapped last month in New Zealand.

MTV last night named fans of The Hunger Games, Jurassic World, “Pretty Little Liars,” “iZombie,” “Arrow,” Big Hero 6, Fifth Harmony, The Twilight Saga and YouTube star Superwoman as winners of the “MTV Fandom Awards”

MTV will take San Diego Comic-Con by storm with the return of Comic-Con favorite and hit drama series “Teen Wolf” for the sixth time and convention debuts of highly-anticipated shows “Scream: The TV Series” and “The Shannara Chronicles.”

Brooke Williams (at left) (Spartacus: Blood & Sand), Marcus Vanco (Unbroken) and Australian soap hottie Daniel MacPherson have signed on to MTV's upcoming fantasy series SHANARAm based on the book series by Terry Brooks.

Orson Bean (Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Being John Malkovich, Desperate Housewives), Austin Butler (The Carrie Diaries, Aliens in the Attic, Ruby and the Rockits), David Clayton Rogers (Nashville, Mixology, Jane by Design), and Lyndon Smith (Parenthood upcoming The Forger with John Travolta) have been announced as the cast of Death of the Author, a world premiere by Pulitzer Prize nominated playwright, Steven Drukman, directed by Bart DeLorenzo, to be performed at the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse beginning May 28. DeLorenzo returns to the Geffen Playhouse after directing Coney Island Christmas, by Donald Margulies, in 2012. Previews begin May 20; opening night is May 28.
