Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) is proud to announce casting for the New York and world premieres of a double bill of one-act plays from Atlantic's founder. TWO UNRELATED PLAYS BY DAVID MAMET: KEEP YOUR PANTHEON AND SCHOOL, directed by Neil Pepe, will feature the ensemble cast of Jeffrey Addiss, Michael Cassidy, Steven Hawley, J.J. Johnston, Jordan Lage, Brian Murray, Rod McLachlan, John Pankow, Jonathan Rossetti, Jack Wallace and Todd Weeks.
Live Broadcast, a play by John William Schiffbauer, will be presented at the 13th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, a production of The Present Company. Erica Ruff will produce the presentation, which will be directed by Melissa Attebery. The cast will feature Andrea Day, Kyle Knauf, Amanda Brooke Lerner, and John William Schiffbauer. Live Broadcast was previously work-shopped as part of the Manhattan Repertory Theatre's Fall Play Festival in October 2008.

Variety reports that Disney Studios has acquired the motion picture rights to a new rendition of 'The Diary of Anne Frank,' to be written and directed by David Mamet. Mamet will also serve as producer with Andrew Braunsberg.

Intiman Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Bartlett Sher and Managing Director Brian Colburn, continues its 2009 Season with The Year of Magical Thinking, adapted by Joan Didion from her memoir, directed by Sarna Lapine and starring Judith Roberts. Today Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the creative team for its world premiere of American Idiot. Based on the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, the show features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. American Idiot is being staged by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, who also collaborated with Armstrong on the story. It features the work of Olivier Award-winning choreographer Steven Hoggett and music supervisor Tom Kitt, the Tony-winning composer who provided string arrangements for the band's latest album, 21st Century Breakdown.
