The Historic Ali Cultural Arts is proud to present one of the most acclaimed new jazz performers in the world, Matthew Whitaker. The blind teen prodigy has been hailed by critics for his virtuoso style on the piano and the Hammond B3 organ. Whitaker was recently profiled on the Today Show and has been seen on a variety of TV programs including Ellen, CBS Sunday Morning and Good Morning Japan. Last year, he debuted his critically acclaimed first CD, Outta the Box, featuring a mix of original compositions and his take on the classics.

Jacob's Pillow announces the full season lineup for Festival 2018, including U.S. company debuts, world premieres, international artists, newly commissioned work, rich historic Festival connections, and the formal presentation of work developed through the organization's growing residency program at the Pillow Lab. Jacob's Pillow is the longest-running dance festival in the United States, a National Historic Landmark, a National Medal of Arts recipient, and has recently expanded to become a year-round center for dance research and development. The 10th edition of The Music Center's highly popular Sleepless: The Music Center After Hours will transform The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, filling it with Cuba's most talented artists and featuring live performances; originally created photographic, sound and light installations; film screenings; and a mercadito of Cuban artwork and merchandise. This special edition of Sleepless will offer a 21st century re?imagining and re?interpretation of what it means to be a contemporary Cuban artist working in a globally-influenced world, all in a late-night experiential environment.
