Nashville theater audiences were treated to a wide range of dramatic offerings in 2010, with the revival of some of the best-known American plays of the past half-century, along with productions of some amazing original works by a group of talented homegrown playwrights, whose subjects ranged from what goes on in the intimate confines of the ladies' room to a murder mystery comedy with a film noir ambience. Clearly, if 2010 is any indication, the new 2011 season now under way is going to be filled with even more surprises and delights.
Brian Dennehy Leads THE FIELD in Dublin in 2011; Guthrie Artistic Director Dowling Directs

The Guthrie Theater today announced that Artistic Director Joe Dowling will direct legendary stage actor Brian Dennehy in John B. Keane's The Field in a limited run at Dublin's Olympia Theatre beginning January 13. Dennehy plays the iconic role of ‘The Bull' McCabe in Keane's award-winning play. The Field returns to the Olympia Theatre where it premiered more than 45 years ago and will run from January 13 through to February 12, then transfer to the INEC, Killarney, from February 15 through 17, followed by a transfer to the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, from February 24 through 26.

Kick off the holiday season at Bristol Riverside Theatre with Home For The Holidays , the eighth annual winter musicale concert, on December 11-22. This family program presents favorite holiday songs from yesterday and today, including traditional carols, popular classics, contemporary arrangements and original songs to celebrate the spirit of the season. Directed by Keith Baker, the program features BRT favorites Laura Catlaw, Philip Chaffin, Anthony D'Amato, and Steven Stein-Grainger, joined by Niffer Clarke and Eleonore Thomas. The program features such popular toe-tapping, finger-snapping songs as Carol of the Bells, Frosty the Snowman, O Holy Night, Winter Winterland, Baby It's Cold Outside, All I Want for Christmas, and Santa Baby.
