PBS' AMERICAN MASTERS presents the highly anticipated profile on the complex king of ballet and Broadway, Jerome Robbins. It will be the first-ever and only documentary on the preeminent choreographer. 'Jerome Robbins: Something to Dance About' is by Judy Kinberg and written by best-selling Robbins biographer Amanda Vaill.

The year was 1980, and Patti LuPone was starring as 'Evita' on Broadway. She was en route to winning the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, and cementing her status as a Broadway star. But there was another Patti LuPone performance taking place -- one that only a comparative handful of people were aware of: Every Saturday night at midnight, for 27 weeks, after performing one of the most demanding roles ever, she made her way to Les Mouches - a legendary nightclub in New York City, to perform a solo concert...This was a one-woman tour de force that -- until now -- only the lucky few who were on hand knew about.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre will welcome two of Broadway's most esteemed performers - Alison Fraser and Mary Testa (with special guest, Annie Golden), for two very special performances as part of our celebrated Voices from the Great White Way Series. After two previous sold out performances The Laurie Beechman has added two more chances to see Testa and Fraser: Monday, November 10 @ 7pm and Monday, November 24 @ 10pm.

Patti LuPone made a surprise appearance at Splash in support of her new CD, 'Patti LuPone at Les Mouches,' out next week. The CD was recorded in 1980 live at a Chelsea nightclub when Patti starred in Evita. She was introduced to the crowd by Ugly Betty's Michael Urie, whose mother she portrays on the hit ABC show.

Signature Theatre, nationally renowned for its interpretation of Sondheim musicals, takes on the Sondheim cult favorite Anyone Can Whistle in a special one night only concert, Monday, October 6, 2008 at 8:00 pm at the Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center in Alexandria. Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer will direct the performance, a rare opportunity to experience Sondheim's wacky, intelligent, and highly unconventional 1964 work.

The new production of WEST SIDE STORY will officially open on Broadway at the Palace Theatre on March 19, 2009. WEST SIDE STORY will begin preview performances on February 23, 2009 following an out of town engagement December 15, 2008 through January 17, 2009 at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Josefina Scaglione 'Maria' in West Side Story Revival ?

Argentina's LA NACION newspaper is reporting that young actress Josefina Scaglione will portray Maria in the 2009 revival of West Side Story. The revival of West Side Story will begin previews on February 23, 2009 with an official opening slated for March 19, 2009.
