Washington et al to Receive Princess Grace Awards, Nov. 10, 2010

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) is proud to announce that the 28th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The Awards ceremony will include the presentation of 21 awards to emerging artists in theater, dance and film as well as the Prince Rainier III Award to be presented to Denzel and Pauletta Washington and the Princess Grace Statue Award to be presented to Anna D. Shapiro. The Award recipients hail from cities and states across America and will travel to New York City to receive their honor at the glamorous black tie ceremony. The 28th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala will take place in the presence of Her Royal Highness Caroline Princess of Hanover. The evening will be co-chaired by Bonnie Pfeifer Evans. Presenting Sponsor for the Gala is Hermes; Platinum Sponsors are The Charles Evans Foundation and Noelle and Dick Wolf; and Crown Sponsor is Lily Safra.

Mottier Joins Ubique Board of Directors

Charles H. Mottier, an attorney with Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd., has joined the Board of Directors for Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre, a Rogers Park-based cabaret theatre company.

Charlotte Street Foundation's Urban Culture Project Presents THINGS TO BE NEXT TO

Charlotte Street Foundation's Urban Culture Project is pleased to present Things to be Next To, an exhibition collaboration with threewalls, Chicago. Featuring recent and new work by Alberto Aguilar (Chicago), Peter Fagundo (Chicago), James Woodfill (Kansas City), and Warren Rosser (Kansas City), the exhibition will run September 4- October 15, 2010 in Kansas City at CSF's la Esquina (an Urban Culture Project venue), and at threewalls in Chicago, November 5-December 11, 2010.

Oak Park Festival Theatre Presents Megan Wells in DRACULA 10/7

Oak Park Festival Theatre presents acclaimed storyteller Megan Wells in her annual incarnation of Bram Stoker's Dracula as a benefit for Festival Theatre. There will be only four performances of Dracula at the National Historic Landmark Pleasant Home, 217 Home Ave. in Oak Park, on Thursday, October 7; Friday, October 15; Sunday, October 17; and Friday, October 22 at 8:00 p.m.

Piven Theatre Workshop Closes Its Season With LATE: A COWBOY SONG, 7/24-8/29

Piven Theatre Workshop closes its 2009-10 season with the Chicago premiere of Late: A Cowboy Song, written by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Jessica Thebus and featuring Polly Noonan. The production will run July 24 - August 29, 2010 at Piven Theatre Workshop, 927 Noyes Street. Press opening is Monday, July 26, 2010 at 7:30PM.

MOYRA DAVEY's First Solo Exhibit Opens at Kunsthalle Thru 8/29

Moyra Davey's first solo exhibit in Europe will be at the Kunsthalle Basel June 17 through August 29 with an opening Wednesday, June 16 from 7pm-10pm. Accompanying the exhibition will be a new, fully illustrated monograph, published by Sternberg Press, with essays on Davey's work by George Baker, Bill Horrigan, Chris Kraus, and Eric Rosenberg. New Stieglitz Exhibition to Open at Seaport Museum New York 9/15

For the first time in nearly 80 years, legendary early twentieth century photographer Alfred Stieglitz's iconic New York City photographs will be displayed together as part of the groundbreaking, new exhibition 'Alfred Stieglitz New York,' at Seaport Museum New York, located at 12 Fulton Street (between Front Street and Water Street) in Manhattan.

The Frist Center Releases Schedule for September Through November

Accredited by the American Association of Museums, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, located at 919 Broadway in downtown Nashville, Tenn., is an art exhibition center dedicated to presenting the finest visual art from local, regional, U.S., and international sources in a program of changing exhibitions. The Frist Center's Martin ArtQuest Gallery features interactive stations relating to Frist Center exhibitions.

MoMA's Annual Photography Series Presents NEW PHOTOGRAPHY 2010

For New Photography 2010, The Museum of Modern Art highlights four artists in its annual showcase of significant recent work in contemporary photography. The exhibition is on view from September 29, 2010, through January 10, 2011, and features the work of Roe Ethridge, Elad Lassry, Alex Prager, and Amanda Ross-Ho, all of whom engage photography as a medium with fluid borders between editorial work, film, and art.

The Route 66 Theatre Company Presents MCMEEKIN FINDS OUT 10/7-11/14

The Route 66 Theatre Company kicks off its 2010-2011 season with MCMEEKIN FINDS OUT, a new play by Scott T. Barsotti, directed by Damon Kiely. MCMEEKIN FINDS OUT features an all-star cast including Randy Steinmeyer, Kate Buddeke, Blair Robertson, Tyler Ross, Dane Halvorson and Danielle Brothers. MCMEEKIN FINDS OUT plays October 7 - November 14, 2010 in Richard Christiansen Theater, upstairs at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. The press opening is Friday, October 15 at 8 pm.

The Sheldon Art Galleries Announce Fall 2010 Opening of Seven New Exhibits

The Sheldon Art Galleries announces the Fall 2010 opening of seven new exhibits. Join us for an opening reception with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres, Friday, October 1 from 5-7 p.m. (galleries open until 8 p.m.). Gallery hours are Tuesdays, Noon - 8 p.m.; Wednesdays - Fridays, Noon - 5 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and one hour prior to Sheldon performances and during intermission. Admission is free.

SPIDER-MAN Announces Complete Cast!

Lead producer Michael Cohl today announced the complete cast for SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, which begins rehearsals this morning. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin previews at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) on November 14, with opening night set for December 21.

Dumbo Arts Center to Host Closing Party, 8/5
