Pre-release accolades for the self-produced Ryan Adams (out tomorrow -- September 9 -- on PAX-AM/Blue Note) continue to pour in, as Ryan prepares for tonight's record release shebang at DC's 9:30Club and confirms three new dates on his warmly received and briskly selling tour: October 23 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin TX and a November 22-23 doubleheader at the Hammerstein Ballroom in his sort of former hometown of New York, NY.

The newly formed Refuge Theatre Project, a company dedicated to the performance of ensemble based musical theatre, has announced its first season of two musicals, both to be performed at the Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Wicker Park. The musicals,Next Thing You Know by Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham and Glory Days by James Gardiner and Nick Blaemire, will be previewed by Refuge ensemble members at a fund-raising concert to be held in The Cab at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont on Sunday, September 28th at 7 pm.

Multi award winning guitarist, singer/songwriter and British Blues Hall of Famer, Matt Schofield, returns to the UK to embark on his largest headlining tour since dazzling audiences nationwide last year as Joe Satriani's special guest. Schofield kicks off the 15-date tour on November 13th with special guest The Ben Poole Band.

This fall, Signature Theatre continues its commitment to presenting bold new contemporary plays with the DC area premiere of Sex with Strangers by Laura Eason. After its New York premiere at Second Stage Theatre this summer, Signature is proud to introduce this play to DC audiences. Running October 14 - December 7, Sex with Strangers will be presented in Signature's intimate 110-seat ARK Theatre.

Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre has released the first in a series of mini-documentaries exploring Signature's 25 year history. Each month throughout the 2014/2015 season, Signature Theatre will release in-depth interviews with artists that helped bring Signature Theatre to the forefront of the American theatre.

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas and Six Flags St. Louis, the Coaster Capital of Missouri in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment today announced the next generation of interactive thrills with the debut of an all-new 3D interactive dark ride attraction, JUSTICE LEAGUE: BATTLE FOR METROPOLIS. Slated to open at both Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis in 2015, guests will become members of the JUSTICE LEAGUE Reserve Team, and engage in a full-sensory journey as they battle alongside SUPERMAN, BATMAN, WONDER WOMAN and GREEN LANTERN against Lex Luthor, The Joker and his henchmen. Traveling in six-passenger vehicles, riders must outsmart Lex Luthor and The Joker and save the city of Metropolis.

Troubled souls grapple with diphtheria, infant mortality, and cocaine addiction, among other obstacles, in Lizzie Vieh's new drama, Wisconsin Death Trip, based on the book by Michael Lesy. The play will have its debut reading at Manhattan Theatre Club's Creative Center on Sunday, September 7th. Another developmental reading will follow on Monday, September 8th, at ART/NY's Bruce Mitchell Room. Both readings will begin at 7PM.

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present the winner of its 2014 Play Festival, Janice Underwater by Hillside native Tom Matthew Wolfe, September 4 - 21 in Kean University's Zella Fry Theatre. Directed by Jade King Carroll, this delightfully quirky new play tells the story of Janice, who has a sneaking suspicion that she's losing her mind. While waiting for the results of genetic testing that could confirm her fears, Janice struggles to hold it together and pursue her art in the city. With the help of an attractive but troubled super, a devoted brother, and visions of her mentally ill mother, will Janice find her way home? Selected from over 400 submissions as the winner of Premiere's annual competition for unproduced scripts by area playwrights, Janice Underwater received a developmental reading earlier this spring, delighting audiences with its recognizable characters and locales.

Chris Isaacson Presents has announced a one-night-only concert event at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre on Saturday, August 16 at 8pm. Broadway Under the Stars will star Tony Award-winner Jennifer Holliday (Dreamgirls) and will also feature (in alphabetical order) Obba Babatunde (Dreamgirls), Erich Bergen (Jersey Boys, stage and film), Rogelio Douglas, Jr. (In the Heights), Danny Gurwin (Little Women) and Tony Award-nominee Chad Kimball (Memphis). David Galligan will direct, and the music director is Gerald Sternbach.

The 2014-2015 season of 'Concerts from the Library of Congress' brings a stellar roster of performers, ensembles and scholars from around the world in commemoration of the 150th birthday of founding patron Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge. The concerts are complemented by guest speakers, curators, panels, film screenings and displays of rarely seen manuscripts, letters and memorabilia from the Library's holdings. Concerts kick off Saturday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m. with a performance by gospel and soul music legend Mavis Staples.

Groovy Gustafer Yellowgold is a friendly fellow who came from the Sun and landed in the Minnesota woods. Illustrator/songwriter/performer Morgan Taylor developed the Gustafer Yellowgold experience as equal parts pop rock concert and animated picture book.

Williamstown Theatre Festival opened The Visit, starring Broadway legend, Chita Rivera and Tony Award winner, Roger Rees. The production runs through August 17, 2014.
