RYAN ADAMS Set for Record Release Show Tonight at DC's 9:30 Club

Pre-release accolades for the self-produced Ryan Adams (out tomorrow -- September 9 -- on PAX-AM/Blue Note) continue to pour in, as Ryan prepares for tonight's record release shebang at DC's 9:30Club and confirms three new dates on his warmly received and briskly selling tour: October 23 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin TX and a November 22-23 doubleheader at the Hammerstein Ballroom in his sort of former hometown of New York, NY.

Refuge Theatre Project Presents Inaugural Season and Preview Concert

The newly formed Refuge Theatre Project, a company dedicated to the performance of ensemble based musical theatre, has announced its first season of two musicals, both to be performed at the Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Wicker Park. The musicals,Next Thing You Know by Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham and Glory Days by James Gardiner and Nick Blaemire, will be previewed by Refuge ensemble members at a fund-raising concert to be held in The Cab at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont on Sunday, September 28th at 7 pm.

Matt Schofield Announces November 2014 UK Tour

This fall, Signature Theatre continues its commitment to presenting bold new contemporary plays with the DC area premiere of Sex with Strangers by Laura Eason. After its New York premiere at Second Stage Theatre this summer, Signature is proud to introduce this play to DC audiences. Running October 14 - December 7, Sex with Strangers will be presented in Signature's intimate 110-seat ARK Theatre.

Signature Theatre Launches 25th Anniversary Mini-Documentary Series

Consumer Products and DC Entertainment today announced the next generation of interactive thrills with the debut of an all-new 3D interactive dark ride attraction, JUSTICE LEAGUE: BATTLE FOR METROPOLIS. Slated to open at both Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis in 2015, guests will become members of the JUSTICE LEAGUE Reserve Team, and engage in a full-sensory journey as they battle alongside SUPERMAN, BATMAN, WONDER WOMAN and GREEN LANTERN against Lex Luthor, The Joker and his henchmen. Traveling in six-passenger vehicles, riders must outsmart Lex Luthor and The Joker and save the city of Metropolis.

WISCONSIN DEATH TRIP Staged Reading Set for Manhattan Theatre Club's Creative Center, 9/7

Troubled souls grapple with diphtheria, infant mortality, and cocaine addiction, among other obstacles, in Lizzie Vieh's new drama, Wisconsin Death Trip, based on the book by Michael Lesy. The play will have its debut reading at Manhattan Theatre Club's Creative Center on Sunday, September 7th. Another developmental reading will follow on Monday, September 8th, at ART/NY's Bruce Mitchell Room. Both readings will begin at 7PM.

Directed by Jade King Carroll, this delightfully quirky new play tells the story of Janice, who has a sneaking suspicion that she's losing her mind. While waiting for the results of genetic testing that could confirm her fears, Janice struggles to hold it together and pursue her art in the city. With the help of an attractive but troubled super, a devoted brother, and visions of her mentally ill mother, will Janice find her way home? Selected from over 400 submissions as the winner of Premiere's annual competition for unproduced scripts by area playwrights, Janice Underwater received a developmental reading earlier this spring, delighting audiences with its recognizable characters and locales.
