On Sunday, April 3, Arizona Theatre Company is hosting an industry night at the Herberger Theatre Center; a night dedicated to celebrating local theatre-makers by offering a space to reconnect and network while growing a relationship with ATC. From 6 to 7 pm, there will be a pre-show reception in Bob's Spot with refreshments and mingling. Representatives from UCAT and Equity Night Out will also speak.

San Diego Opera has announced that Matthew E. Graber has been appointed to the position of Chief Marketing Officer after a national search, replacing the previous CMO who retired in 2021.

In FOUR WOMEN, history reminds us there's no rest for the weary, and the call for racial justice is a collective effort requiring sustained vigilance. The irony here is not so subtle. Ms. Ham's play thumbs its nose at the growing political hysteria over which segments of American history should be taught in schools. It's a volatile nation that tiptoes between insight and shame as it reexamines its sordid past. Nonetheless, FOUR WOMEN is dauntless in its appeal to uphold historical reality amidst current grievances about a manufactured problem.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will present Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner August Wilson’s sweeping drama Gem of the Ocean. This seminal classic will be directed by Artistic Director Tim Bond, a close friend of the late playwright and a leading interpreter of his work, making his TheatreWorks directorial debut with this play.

Lori Hamilton will bring free workshop performances of North Star (or what I listened to instead of my intuition) to New York at Theaterlab on 15 March and Los Angeles at The Yard Theater on 23 March. Next stop will be the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August.

Casting has been announced for the world premiere of up-and-coming playwright Benjamin Benne's new work “Alma” coming to Los Angeles at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre March 6 through April 3, 2022. Directed by Juliette Carrillo, “Alma” opens March 13, 2022, and is produced in cooperation with American Blues Theater.

Local celebrity Seth Tucker headlines Broadway Curious, joined by musical director Alicia Ferrin, at ASU Kerr Thursday, March 17th, at 7:00pm. The event marks the latest installment in The Bridge Initiative's musical theatre-centered monthly concert/talk show series, Broadway Curious, offered the third Thursday every month through May.

The Lion is a one-man folk musical telling a true story of survival. With a guitar in hand, Ben confronts his turbulent life's journey from a rift in his childhood to his own brush with mortality.

Playwrights Dipika Guha (“Yoga Play” at Syracuse Stage through Feb. 6), Hilary Bettis and Joy Meads join Syracuse Stage associate artistic director Melissa Crespo and moderator and arts journalist Kelundra Smith for a panel discussion “Inside the Kilroys List” on Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.

Three performances of Giacomo Puccini's opera La Bohème, under the direction of the Utah Valley University School of the Arts, will be performed on Jan. 20, 22, 24, 2022 in The Noorda.

All For One Theater has selected 5 playwrights who will create and develop five brand new solo plays as part of All For One's 2022 Solo Collective development series: Nia Calloway (HOMEBODY: A Ritual Party), Rachel Lin (Dear John), Matthew Paul Olmos (the un'admiring), Reynaldo Piniella (Black and Blue), and Jason Odell Williams (Destroying David).

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY has announced its return to live performances with three plays performing in repertory. THE PLAY YOU WANT, written by Bernardo Cubria and directed by Michael John Garcés, will begin previews on Tuesday, February 8; will open on Friday, February 11 at 8pm and run through Sunday, March 27.

The Guthrie Theater today announced casting for Lorraine Hansberry’s theatrical masterpiece A Raisin in the Sun, directed by acclaimed Twin Cities artist Austene Van. A Raisin in the Sun will play January 8 – February 12, 2022, on the McGuire Proscenium Stage.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the tenth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a four-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written by emerging artists. The Reading Series will feature new works by Liz Appel, Noah Diaz, Daria Miyeko Marinelli and York Walker. The Roundabout Underground Reading Series is January 18 - 21, 2022 at 5:00PM at the Five Angels Theater (789 Tenth Avenue).

Tyler Pirrung is terrific as Buddy in Arizona Broadway Theatre's ELF THE MUSICAL, directed and choreographed by Kurtis Overby. The show runs through December 29th.

The nationally regarded Fulton Theatre in partnership with Greenfield continues the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Speaker Series with it's production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella. The Series of four events throughout the season continues Sunday, December 5 at 5:00 pm at the Fulton Theatre, with AnnEliza Canning-Skinner (Fairy Godmother), Manna Nichols (Cinderella), and Kalen Robinson (Stepsister Grace). Tickets are FREE to the community, but reservations are required.

In MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY, Gunderson partners with her friend Margot Melcon and lends a righteous voice to Mary Bennet, the third child of the Bennet household in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. In the duo's amusing account, Mary comes of age in a way Austen enthusiasts ought to appreciate -- no longer the stodgy middle child consigned to a pedantic existence, but a woman of substance deserving of social recognition and romance.

The Herberger Theater, alongside more than 15 Arizona arts organizations, will honor the life of Judd Herberger with a dimming of the theater lights at 7:15pm on Friday, November 5. Judd Herberger, longtime arts philanthropist and beloved member of the community, passed away on October 27, 2021.
