The Music Box Theatre box office (239 West 45th Street) opens Monday, February 1st at 10am for tickets to SHUFFLE ALONG Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed, a new production that presents both the 1921 musical itself, and additionally details the events that catalyzed the songwriting team of Noble Sissle and Eubie Blake, and librettists F.E. Miller and Aubrey Lyles to create this ground-breaking work. SHUFFLE ALONG will star six-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald, Tony Award-winners Brian Stokes Mitchell and Billy Porter, and Tony Award-nominees Brandon Victor Dixon and Joshua Henry.

The show marks a reunion for legendary tap dancer and choreographer Savion Glover and director George C. Wolfe, who first worked together in Broadway's JELLY'S LAST JAM. In the preview below, Wolfe chats about what fascinates him about the subject matter.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Shuffle Along Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed has shifted its spring performance schedule. Instead of opening on April 21, 2016, the show will now open on April 28, with previews beginning on March 15.

On Monday, November 16th Broadway Method Academy is hosting a benefit concert "Broadway Sings!" in efforts to find a "forever home". Broadway Method Academy's Executive Director, Connor Deane says the evening will be filled with top-notch talent from both Connecticut and New York, including some of Broadway's top performers.

Dionne Figgins ('Trip of Love'), Devon Glover ('The Sonnet Man'), D'Andre Lee ('Kinky Boots') and Devin L. Roberts ('The Lion King') are among Broadway actors participating in 'Our Voices For Veterans: A Broadway Brunchtime Series Service Treat.'

BroadwayWorld has just learned that six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, who will star next spring in Shuffle Along Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed, will take a break from the show next summer. An official show rep commented: 'Due to a pre-existing commitment, Audra McDonald will not appear in Shuffle Along from Tuesday, June 21 to Sunday, September 25, 2016.  Miss McDonald will return to Shuffle Along beginning Tuesday, September 27 and is currently contracted to stay with the production through  Sunday, June 11, 2017.'

This Thursday, June 25th, Broadway Sessions will celebrate 7 years of weekly programming with a special all star concert featuring past Sessions guests.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that On The Town star Elizabeth Stanley will be celebrating the show's creators Betty Comden and Adolph Green in concert in 'Carried Away' on Monday, April 6 at 7pm. Elizabeth's very special guest will be Television/Broadway star Andrew Rannells.

On Sunday, March 15 2015, to celebrate Broadway Sings for Pride's (www.BroadwaySingsforPride.com) upcoming 5th Anniversary Gay Pride charity concert in June, they will be amping up the star power and going into the recording studio.
