Photo Flash: Meet the Cast of OPEN UP at Theater for the New City's 'Dream up' Festival

Theater for the New City, Crystal Field, Executive Director, presents OPEN UP as part of the Dream Up Festival, August 28 through September 2, 2012. Written by Kimberly Pau and directed by Eric Mercado, the production features designs by Rachel R. Blackwell and production stage management and additional designs by Jeromy Hunt. The cast includes Melissa Chambers, Lauren Cipriano, David Fernandez, Aaron McDaniel, Amanda Peters and Elizabeth Spano. Meet the cast in the photos below!

SHREK, Branford Marsalis, Vienna Boys Choir and More Set for 3Stages' 2012-13 Season

Bringing artists from all over the world, and from most every genre, Three Stages will offer literally hundreds of performances in the 2012-13 season. Beginning in August, 2012 and concluding in June, 2013; world-class performers from Branford Marsalis to The Manhattan Transfer, from the Vienna Boys Choir to Natalie MacMaster, from the China National Symphony Orchestra to the Russian National Ballet Theatre, from the Pipes and Drums of the Black Watch to Shrek The Musical, will grace the stages at Three Stages. Complementing the stellar international lineup is a who's who of regional arts organizations, from the El Dorado Musical Theatre to the Sacramento Guitar Society to the Folsom Symphony and more, including the Three Stages' debut of the Sacramento Opera.

The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA), under the artistic direction of Ben Donenberg, returns after 16 years to The Japanese Garden on the grounds of the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center Campus with a summer production of William Shakespeare's romantic comedy AS YOU LIKE IT directed by Royal Shakespeare Company artist Kenn Sabberton - tonight, July 10 to July 29.

Aquila Theatre's MACBETH Opens Wednesday

AQUILA THEATRE (Peter Meineck, Artistic Director) will present the New York Premiere of their production of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, designed and directed by Desiree Sanchez featuring Rachael Barrington (Lady Macduff/Rosse/Servant), Janet Dunson (Witch 3/Ensemble), Peter F. Gardiner (Banquo/Captain/Cathness/Porter/Messenger/Murderer 2) James Hogg (Banquo/Captain/Porter/Messenger/Murderer 2/Doctor), James Lavender (Macduff /Duncan/Murderer 1), Alexandra Milne (Witch/Ensemble), Guy Oliver-Watts (Macbeth), Rebecca Reaney (Lady Macbeth/Boy) and Mary Werntz (Witch/Ensemble), opening Wednesday, April 25th. This limited engagement continues through May 6th only.

Guy Oliver-Watts to Lead Aquila Theatre's MACBETH

Valley Performing Arts Center Announces 2012-2013 Season, will Include Voigt, Mutter, Feinstein, Neuwirth

The Valley Performing Arts Center at California State University, Northridge unveiled its 2012-13 season today, highlighted by a diverse array of renowned international orchestras, innovative dance companies, emerging artists and legendary Broadway icons. The Valley Performing Arts Center's 2012-13 season, featuring more than 30 performances, kicks off on Sept. 13, with the Asphalt Orchestra, and runs through May 19, with opera soprano Deborah Voigt.
