Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival Programming Announced

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces the full complement of programming scheduled to be presented at the 55th annual Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival, a production of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The 10-day celebration of the arts in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is unlike any other in the nation. The world-class, multi-disciplinary festival is free to attend and is open to the public. Attracting over 400,000 visitors annually, the Festival begins on the first Friday in June and takes place at the confluence of Pittsburgh's famed three rivers in Point State Park, throughout picturesque Gateway Center, and in the city's world-renowned Cultural District.

The National Gallery of Victoria Presents FASHION DETECTIVE, Now thru 8/31

More than 70 unattributed garments and accessories from the NGV's world-class Fashion & Textiles Collection will be examined under the microscope in Fashion Detective, an intriguing, investigative exhibition that seeks to uncover the people and histories behind these extraordinary pieces. Using material evidence, hearsay and forensics, along with specially commissioned fictional stories, the exhibition considers these fascinating pieces drawn from the NGV's extensive collection of over 8,000 items.

Playwrights Horizons Offers 'LIVEforFIVE' $5 Ticket Lottery for FLY BY NIGHT, 5/16

An anonymous source tipped off The Wall Street Journa that J.Crew is launching a new low-priced concept called J.Crew Mercantile. The prices at J.Crew Mercantile will be similar to J.Crew Factory but don't confuse the two! Mercantile will be a store unto its own like Old Navy is to Gap.

Oregon Children's Theatre Announecs Winners of The Bully Project

As part of Oregon Children's Theatre's 2nd annual Bully Project competition, middle school students (6-8th grade) from Oregon and Washington were invited to write original, 10-minute plays about bullying. Six finalists were selected by a panel of classroom teachers, members of the OCT Young Professionals Company, and OCT staff. Each finalist was mentored by professional playwrights Matthew B. Zrebski or Debbie Lamedman of Playwrights West to refine and revise their scripts. The final scripts will be featured at a public staged reading at the Winningstad Theatre (1111 SW Broadway, Portland) on May 11th at 5pm where members of OCT's Young Professionals program will direct and perform the six plays.

INTERMISSION Begins Performances Tonight at Theatre Row

Voyage Theater Company and B2Y Entertainment present the World Premiere of the play-within-a-play comedy INTERMISSION by Daniel Libman. Directed by Wayne Maugans, previews begin tonight, May 2 at The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row. Opening is slated for Thursday, May 8. INTERMISSION is performed without an intermission.

Steppenwolf Sets First Look 2014 Lineup; Runs 7/26-8/24

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the line-up for the ninth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, featuring three developmental productions of new plays presented in rotating repertory July 26 - August 24, 2014 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St). First Look 2014 includes: Ironbound by Martyna Majok, Hushabye by Tanya Saracho and Okay, Bye by Joshua Conkel.
