This month, Go Comedy! is proud to present three original events featuring improvisers from the areas' diverse communities. Represent!, Female Hysteria, and TRUE COLORS: Come out and Play will appear on Wednesdayevenings at 9:00pm. In addition, the award-winning improv theater will welcome its newest original comedy Swine and Potato, Thursday nights while continuing its popular BITS improv tournament for the summer. Her Story Theater, a company dedicated to raising awareness of the epidemic of sexual exploitation, has announced the world premiere of MONGERS - the fourth play in its cycle of dramas exposing sex trafficking practices in Chicago. Written by Her Story Theater Founder and Producing Artistic Director Mary Bonnett, and directed by John Mossman, Co-Founder of The Artistic Home, MONGERS follows a Chicago criminal defense attorney with a secret sex life who deals with his sensitive 16-year-old son's legal crisis on the day he takes a deposition from the mother of a murdered teenage sex trafficked victim. Bonnett's play uncovers the nationwide, anonymous brotherhood of men who use the Internet to find and compare notes on the women and underage girls they pay for sex. It also explores the toxicity of many of the prevailing notions of masculinity and how they contribute to an environment that allows these abuses to exist. Though the characters are composites of people Bonnett interviewed and the plot details are inspired by real-life events in Chicago. Bonnett's script includes actual posts from online chats among men engaged in this activity along with dialogue she imagined for the characters.
Philadelphia Artists' Collective will conclude their 2017-2018 season with Maria Marten, or, The Murder in the Red Barn, by Anonymous, from June 6 to June 24, 2018, at The Louis Bluver Theatre at The Drake. A tale of love, revenge and murder with a village idiot and the epitome of all villains, this show will make you boo, hiss, guffaw and cheer. Dastardly deeds, family forgiveness and a Wanderer's curse all lead to one blisteringly ridiculous climax in the highest style of the Victorian melodramas. Only the highest of the low for PAC, Co-Founders Dan Hodge and Damon Bonetti will trade the roles of the fool and the villain each performance for a truly outrageous night in the theatre. Which will play the villain on opening night? Audiences can cast their vote and help decide ahead of the show. Maria Marten will be directed by Charlotte Northeast. The role of Maria will be played by PAC newcomer Victoria Aaliyah Goins, who has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, America's Got Talent, and The Voice.
London Musical Theatre Orchestra is proud to announce its 2018 season which features three spectacular musicals in concert: Tony Award-winning Camelot by Lerner and Loewe at the London Palladium; Girlfriends, composed by Emmy Award-winner Howard Goodall and starring Lucie Jones and Lauren Samuels, at Bishopsgate Institute; and the return of festive favourite A Christmas Carol at the Lyceum Theatre. The concerts follow London Musical Theatre Orchestra and Hackney Empire's presentation of Martin Smith's King at Hackney Empire.

On Monday, June 25 at their annual Broadway Beacon Awards Gala at The JW Marriot Essex House (160 Central Park South), leading NYC arts education nonprofit Inside Broadway (Executive Director, Michael Presser) will honor Tony Award Nominee Ethan Slater (currently starring in the title role of the Tony-Nominated SpongeBob Square Pants the Musical). The evening will also honor Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Orin Wolf (The Band's Visit; President, NETworks Theatrical Presentations), Kenneth G. Alberstadt (Partner, Akerman LLP) and Alexandra Kambouris Alberstadt (Partner, Perkins Coie LLP). In an economy motel room, an embezzling mayor is supposed to meet with his female accountant. In the room next door, two undercover cops are supposed to catch the meeting on videotape. But there's some confusion as to who is in which room, who is watching the video, who has taken the money, and who hired a hitman. This fast-paced farce is a comic gem running June 1 - 17, directed by Bill Pelletier.
