The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is poised for a star-studded evening to honor the distinguished accomplishments and contributions of long-time Trustee Michael Douglas to the American Theater.

Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 12th Annual Monte Cristo Award honoring Michael Douglas will be presented during a gala dinner at the Edison Ballroom in New York City tonight, Monday, April 16th at 6:30pm.

Individual tickets and table reservations are now available for the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 12th Annual Monte Cristo Award honoring Michael Douglas. Individual tickets are $750 and $1,000 (including event program listing), and are available online at www.theoneill.org. The award will be presented during a gala dinner at the Edison Ballroom in New York City on Monday, April 16th at 6:30pm.

Kirk Douglas and his wife, Anne, continue to give generously to the art form that the legendary screen actor calls his first love. Raul Esparza will be appearing in the Center Theatre Group's production of Leap of Faith, which Esparza participated in a reading for in the past. The world-premiere will take place Sept. 5-Oct. 17. With music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, Leap of Faith is based on the Steve Martin film of the same title. Tony award-winner Rob Ashford will be directing and choeographing.

The world premiere of Tim Acito's musical adaptation of Gloria Naylor's novel, The Women of Brewster Place, opens at Arena Stage after its successful co-production run at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre. The Women of Brewster Place runs October 19 - December 9 in the Kreeger Theater; Opening performance is Friday, October 26 at 8PM.
