Today we are talking to one of the most accomplished bring young stars on Broadway all about her many exciting endeavors including headlining the most recent revival of mega-hit ANNIE as well as playing a major part in the new Disney feature film edition of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS - the gifted and talented Lilla Crawford. Opening up about her experiences participating in the big screen edition of the Sondheim classic, Crawford offers insight into her iconic character of Little Red Riding Hood and sheds light on the filmmaking process with director Rob Marshall as well as comments on sharing the screen with such Hollywood heavyweights as Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep. Additionally, Crawford illuminates her time spent headlining the most recent Broadway revival of ever-popular Charles Strouse/Martin Charnin/Thomas Meehan musical ANNIE as well as working with recognizable Miss Hannigans two-time Tony-winner Katie Finneran and GLEE's Jane Lynch, as well as recounts her experiences meeting the star of the big screen ANNIE remake, Quvenzhane Wallis, and her own thoughts on the updated film remake. Most importantly, Crawford discusses her participation in this weekend's open house event to benefit Rosie's Theater Kids and shares her enthusiasm for joining Broadway proponent and Tony Award Honors recipient Rosie O'Donnell in bringing attention to the acclaimed theatre program for underprivileged youth, as well as clues us in on what she will be performing, too. CAKE is a dark, dark film with comic moments, but it deals with love as much as it deals with tragedy. We still have star-crossed lovers (Aniston and Worthington) along with our substance abuse. There's nothing more appropriate for a woman who wants depth and starred in HORRIBLE BOSSES and F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Sundance Institute screens several films in the out-of-competition Premieres and Documentary Premieres sections, as well as hosting the Special Events section and welcoming participants for two panels, at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, running today, January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The Festival is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.

December 18, 2014 (Ventura, CA) - Rubicon Theatre Company of Ventura has just announced the director and cast for the company's mainstage production of The Last Five Years, Jason Robert Brown's emotionally powerful, intimate pop musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in love and try to hold on to each other when life leads them in opposite directions. Rubicon's production will be helmed by Rubicon Resident Artist Stephanie A. Coltrin, who won an Ovation Award for Miss Saigon in L.A. The role of up-and-coming novelist Jamie Wellerstein will be played by Louis Pardo, whose credits include the National Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar with Ted Neeley and work with South Coast Rep, San Diego Rep, and Musical Theatre Guild. Ashley Fox Linton stars opposite Pardo as Cathy Hiatt, an aspiring young actress. Fox Linton's credits include Glinda in the Broadway National Tour of Wicked and Cosette in Les Miserables.

Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) and Paramount Television announced today that actresses Julianne Hough ('Safe Haven,' 'Rock of Ages') and Vanessa Hudgens ('Gigi', 'High School Musical,' 'Spring Breakers') have been cast in leading roles in GREASE: LIVE (working title). With Hough as the angelic 'Sandy' - Rydell High's most talked-about newcomer - and Hudgens as iconic bad girl 'Rizzo,' this first-ever live television production of 'Grease' will re-imagine the hit crossover musical for an entirely new generation.
