The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center brings you the greatest in classic American music with stellar performances by legendary lyricist Alan Bergman on Sunday, July 28; the country's finest cabaret singers in "It's Delightful, It's De-Lovely" - An Evening Celebrating Cole Porter, in partnership with The Mabel Mercer Foundation, on Sunday, August 10; and Tony-winning Broadway singer/dancer/choreographer, Tommy Tune on Saturday, August 31.

The 31st Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards took place last night, June 3 at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University (566 LaGuardia Place). BroadwayWorld was there for the special celebration and you can check out photo coverage below!

Tony Award-winners Susan Stroman, Bebe Neuwirth, Cady Huffman, Kathleen Marshall and Karen Ziemba are set to present at the 31st Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards taking place on Monday, June 3 at 7:30pm at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Also set to present at the awards are Mary Testa, Christiane Noll, Harry Belafonte, Rex Reed, Michael Riedel, Anna Bergman, Lee Roy Reams, Dancing with the Stars' Tony Dovolani, Carson Kressley and Countess Lu Ann de Lesseps.

Nicolas King has been performing since age 4. He was seen first on Broadway in Beauty & The Beast, then in A Thousand Clowns opposite Tom Selleck, and in Hollywood Arms directed by Hal Prince, all before the age of 13. Check out photos from inside his Colony Hotel show below!

There may have been 40 cabaret performers strutting their stuff this past week at the 23rd New York Cabaret Convention at the Rose Theater at Lincoln Center, but the true star of the three-night extravaganza (October 17-19) was the late Donald Smith, the cabaret impresario and guru to the genre's luminaries, who died this past March at 79. Sponsored by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, which Smith founded in 1985, this year's Convention featured numerous homages to Smith from the performers, many of whom had their career's supported and advanced with the help of the colorful and beloved cabaret producer and promoter. Early in Wednesday's Gala Opening Night show, the 'first lady of the American keyboard' Barbara Carroll called her friend Donald Smith 'the quintessential New Yorker,' and when Mark Nadler closed night one with George and Ira Gershwin's 'Our Love Is Here to Stay,' he said, 'Everybody who cares about the myths of these songs are in this room tonight.' Well, it was clear that anyone who cared about Donald Smith was at the Rose Theater for at least one of the three shows.

The annual New York City Cabaret Convention -- conceived, launched, and brilliantly sustained for the past 23 seasons by The Mabel Mercer Foundation --has honored many specific people and events across the past two decades. Legendary performers, composers, lyricists, and their anniversaries have all had their day and their due as the Convention grew in visibility, stature, and acclaim.

BROADWAY BALLYHOO has announced its cast for this Thursday, September 20th at 11 p.m. at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. This week's show stars Christine Lavin (famous songwriter/singer), Richard Rubin (Beauty & the Geek), Anna Bergman (concert and nightclub star), Tyler Maynard (Altar Boys, The Little Mermaid), Jennie Harney (Broadway Rising Star) and Dominique Solano (Discovery Star).

Andrea Marcovicci, the acclaimed singer and actress, has announced the release of her first CD of new material in five years, Smile, on her own label Andreasong. The new recoding her is based on her show of the same name that will be performed at New York's famed Cafe Carlyle from October 2 to 27 after hit runs in Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. Show at Barre returns to its roots with BROADWAY BAR in its newly renovated space. BROADWAY BAR is a monthly event where LA's talented musical theater community comes together to enjoy one another's company while performing, followed by an old fashioned piano party.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs presented the 26th Annual MAC Awards Show on March 29th. The awards ceremony was held at B.B. King Blues Club, and the show was directed by Lennie Watts and produced by Julie Miller. BWW was there to cover the event. Check out the photos below!
