The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the full slate of 27 musical productions, a developmental reading series and special events for their seventh annual festival. Tony Award nominated actress and singer Anita Gillette will return to her hometown of Baltimore to host a workshop based on her one-woman show, After All, for a single performance on Friday, May 14, as part of the UB Spotlight performance series. Gillette's mix of songs and stories will begin at 7 p.m. in the UB Student Center Performing Arts Theater, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. It will be followed by a special Q&A and a reception.
30 Rock: Episode 420: The Moms (TV-14) It's Mother's Day at TGS, and the moms come to visit. Guest starring Buzz Aldrin, Elizabeth Banks, Anita Gillette, Jan Hooks, Cheyenne Jackson, Patti LuPone, Novella Nelson, and Elaine Stritch. Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) meets her mother's (Guest Star Anita Gillette) old flame, while Jack Donaghy's (Alec Baldwin) mother, Colleen (Guest Star Elaine Stritch), gets tangled in his relationships with Avery Jessup (Guest Star Elizabeth Banks) and high school love, Nancy Donovan. On Monday, April 12th DO40 will present its first-ever song and dance concert to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Project Achieve and the NYC HIV Vaccine Trials Unit. Former gypsy and perennial television star Valerie Harper (right), on the heels of her new Broadway show, LOOPED, will make a special appearance along with guests Anita Gillette (photo, bottom right) and Marge Champion. DO40 members will be heavily represented, and guests from the ballet and modern world will also appear and donate their performances for these important causes.
'My spies at 30 Rock tell me about a special Mother's Day episode that just wrapped which features a bevy of Broadway belters. Returning guests include Elaine Stritch as Alec Baldwin's mom, Patti LuPone as Judah Friedlander's mom, Jan Hooks as Jane Krakowski's mom, and Anita Gillette as Tina Fey's mom. With Broadway regulars Cheyenne Jackson and Krakowski, the final scene will be something like Mother's Day - The Musical.'
