Francofolies, France's Premier Music Festival, Makes U.S. Debut with Tribute to Edith Piaf, 9/19

Since its inception in 1985, in the historic French coastal town of La Rochelle, Francofolies has grown to be one of the country's-and indeed, one of Europe's-most popular and acclaimed music festivals. In addition to drawing audiences of approximately 100,000 to concerts spread over five days in La Rochelle, the festival has expanded internationally to include editions in Belgium and Quebec. September 19 will mark the debut of Francofolies New York, a star-studded concert at the Beacon Theatre that will celebrate the music of Edith Piaf on the 50th anniversary of her passing.

globalFEST Receives First NEA Grant to Support its Annual Flagship Festival

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa recently announced thatglobalFEST (globalfest.org) is one of 817 nonprofit organizations nationwide recommended to receivean NEA Art Works grant. This is the first NEA grant to globalFEST and will support 11th edition of the organization's annual flagship festival in New York City in January, 2014.

RIVER TO RIVER FESTIVAL 2013 Announces Full Lineup; Kicks Off 6/15

As part of its 40th Anniversary year, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) unveils the 2013 edition of the annual River To River Festival, Downtown's completely free summer arts festival. This year's edition takes place June 15-July 14 and presents a diverse collection of music, dance, theater, visual art, film and unique participatory experiences by both renowned and breakout artists from New York City and beyond.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is proud to present the much-anticipated return of electrifying, Grammy Award-winning African vocalist ANGELIQUE KIDJO. Currently traveling the globe as part of her "Spirit Rising World Tour," ANGELIQUE KIDJO will close her U.S. tour in Miami on March 28, 2013, at 8:30 p.m. at the John S. and James L. Spoleto Announces Program Updates for December

Spoleto Festival USA General Director Nigel Redden today announced that Grammy Award-winner Angelique Kidjo and popular indie-rock duo Johnnyswim have been added to the recently-released program of the Charleston, South Carolina-based performing arts festival, scheduled for May 24 - June 9, 2013. The 2nd Annual Hope Rising Benefit took plays this week at Roy Thomson Hall to benefit the Stephen Lewis AIDS Foundation, an organization that helps women and children with HIV/AIDS in Africa. Annie Lennox returned to Toronto for one night only to lend her gorgeous vocals to the cause, along with Canadian sensation Sarah McLachlan and African singer Angelique Kidjo. Hosted by Jian Ghomeshi, the very special evening was both heartbreaking and inspiring. BWW was on hand to capture photos from the event.

On November 8 renowned singer-songwriter, composer, musician and poet Alicia Jo Rabins, whose "gorgeous vocals" have been hailed by The New York Times and described as "hauntingly lovely" and "sweetly beguiling" by LA Weekly, will debut her brand new, full-length performative song cycle A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff atJoe's Pub in New York City. The controversial piece explores the spiritual implications of the financial collapse through the story of Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff, attempting to uncover hidden meanings in this contemporary tragedy. One World Concert to Play Syracuse University's Carrier Dome October 9; Full Lineup Announced - Lauper, Dave Matthews, Crosby, Goldberg & More

World Harmony Productions announced today the artist line-up for the ONE WORLD CONCERT-a historic celebration of peace, music and common ground-coming to the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Expected to be one of the largest gatherings of international artists ever to travel to the region, this special benefit concert immediately follows a public talk by the Dalai Lama and features an original song written and performed by multiple artists, especially for His Holiness.
