Gate Theatre Announces Its First Season In Camden

Gate Theatre has announced its first season at Theatro Technis @ 26 Crowndale. Starting this spring, this follows the announcement of Gate Theatre's permanent move from Notting Hill to Camden, following a long search for a more accessible home.

FRIGID New York will present the 13th Annual The Fire This Time Festival at The Kraine Theater, July 7-10. The festival will feature World Premiere 10-minute plays by early career and under-represented playwrights from the African diaspora, co-directed by Zhailon Levingston and actor, writer, director and TFTT alum Tracey Conyer Lee.

FRIGID New York will present the 13th Annual The Fire This Time Festival at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery), July 7-10 with performances on Thursday, July 7 at 7pm, Friday, July 8 at 7pm, Saturday, July 9th at 2pm, Saturday, July 9th at 7pm, and Sunday, July 10th at 3pm.

The festival, which was originally scheduled to run January 17-February 6, 2022 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery), features World Premiere 10-minute plays by early career and under-represented playwrights from the African diaspora. Florida Repertory Theatre's 2020 PlayLab Festival of New Works continues Dec. 3 and 10 with live 7 PM Zoom readings of 'White Party' by Brent Askari and 'A Sherlock Carol' by Mark Shanahan. Harlem's historic National Black Theatre (NBT) is hosting an annual salute to its founder and CEO emerita, the late Dr. Barbara Ann Teer, with NBT's Founder's Month, a month-long celebration of Teer, Black theater and community. Running through July 18, the celebration will feature the launch of NBT@Home: A Letter to the Future, a new series of online conversations on theater, current events and Black history with guests including Toshi Reagon, Ebony Noelle Golden, adrienne maree brown, Jonathan McCrory, Sade Lythcott, members of the theater's original company of a?oeLiberators,a?? and more, and the launch of NBT's VISION Forward Fund Campaign, a fundraising drive to support and advance the theater well into the future.
