The first major revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley began previews at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) on September 23, 2010. This new production, helmed by acclaimed director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing, The Norman Conquests), opened last night, October 14. This immediately follows a limited summer engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from June 26-September 4, 2010 with opening night of July 7. This isn't a review; this is a remembrance of the most special night of my Broadway-loving life. A few days ago, I was twittering about opening nights on Broadway. There were several coming up, and I was dreaming of what it must be like to attend. And even within their 140-character responses, I got a pretty good idea of how magnificent and glamorous these A-list events could be.

In honor of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater's 50th anniversary, the theater continues its special 50th anniversary season with the perennial holiday favorite, 'BOB BAKER'S NUTCRACKER!' opening November 6 and playing through January 16,2011. This marionette version of the ballet classic has been one of Bob's most requested holiday productions since it was first presented in 1965.
