New York City Opera today announced full casting details for the 12th season of its celebrated annual new music festival, VOX Contemporary American Opera Lab.

Legendary pop music guitarist, songwriter and producer of Madonna's blockbuster album Like a Virgin, Nile Rodgers, will participate in a "meet the artist" session to discuss his process and influences for writing the music and lyrics for the new musical DoubleTime.

A drama based on a story by William Faulkner, a musical comedy with a score by a pop music legend and a holiday show with a twist on a Dickens' classic will be presented as concert readings as part of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival's Southern Writers' Project Festival of New Plays, May 13-15, 2011.

It wouldn't be summer in NYC without the annual four-week engagement of the wildly popular Pilobolus Dance Theatre at The Joyce, this year from July 11 - August 6.
