Stage & Screen, a collaboration between Coolidge Corner Theatre and Huntington Theatre Company that explores the depictions of shared themes in Huntington productions and acclaimed films continues its second season on Monday, March 10 at 7pm with the 2011 Cuban zombie comedy Juan of the Dead. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Becoming Cuba playwright Melinda Lopez and director M. Bevin O'Gara moderated by Huntington dramaturg Charles Haugland.

Following hip surgery that took place just one week after the August 14, 2013 premiere of her Restless Creature, Wendy Whelan, in consultation with her doctors, has concluded that her body needs more time to heal and that she must postpone her spring 2014 (March 16 – April 11) inaugural U.S. tour of the work. Bond Street Theatre has been awarded its second Global Connections 'In the Lab' grant by the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) in a nationwide competition. This support allows the company to continue its collaborative adaptation of Ben Johnson's Volpone with Thukhuma Khayeethe (Art Travelers) and prepare its world premiere in Yangon this spring ahead of an upcoming US tour.
Pam Tanowitz Dance makes its long awaited Joyce Theater debut from tonight, February 4 - 6. Presented by The Joyce Theater Foundation, this engagement will include a program of two new works by Tanowitz, a choreographer known for creating work that juxtaposes ballet with classic modern dance. The pieces, both world premieres, will feature live accompaniment.
Cutting Ball Theater closes its 15th season with the American Premiere of COMMUNIQUE N°10 by French playwright Samuel Gallet, directed by Rob Melrose. In a city engulfed by riots a young Muslim man is killed after a confrontation with a security guard. His brother vows vengeance and attempts to take control over his seemingly written destiny. Rebels, vagrants, and officers of the law all seek asylum. Their elders, who have difficulty making sense of society's radical changes, are simultaneously dead and very much alive to bear witness to the resulting devastation. All hide in fear from unseen state forces as they contemplate the consequences of action and inaction.

Williamson will meet this spring with the artistic leaders of the Teater no99 in the capital city of Tallinn in Estonia to explore a cultural exchange between the two companies.
Lisa Steindler, Artistic Director of Z Space announced a collaboration between the world premiere of Hundred Days, a folk rock odyssey, and San Francisco's popular Noise Pop Festival. The Thursday, February 27 preview has been designated as a special performance to be included in the Noise Pop Festival lineup. Conceived and created by up-and-coming duo The Bengsons, Hundred Days redefines the concert as well as the musical theater experience. As part of San Francisco's favorite indie music, arts and film festival, the preview on February 27 comes days before the show's world premiere on Saturday, March 1. Cutting Ball Theater continues its 15th season with Alfred Jarry's UBU ROI in a new translation by Rob Melrose. When UBU ROI premiered in Paris on December 10, 1896, the audience broke into a riot at the utterance of its first word. Jarry's parody of Shakespeare's Macbeth defies theatrical tradition through its scatological language and disregard for audience expectations, replacing Shakespeare's tragic hero with a greedy, sadistic, obscene ogre who becomes the king of Poland by force and through the debasement of his people. UBU ROI retains its relevance and may bring to mind the fall from grace of many a contemporary political leader corrupted by power, from Elliot Spitzer to Dominque Strauss-Kahn.

Mellon Foundation, this grant program encourages reciprocity and cultural exchange throughout the world through ON the ROAD grants to foster new relationships with international colleagues and IN the LAB grants to further pre-existing international collaborations. Now in its third year, the Global Connections program awarded up to $5,000 to seven projects through ON the ROAD and $10,000 to three projects through IN the LAB.
