Gibney Dance today announces a $750,000 gift from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in support of its Dance in Process (DiP) creative residency program for mid-career artists. The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded $400,000 to Texas Performing Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. This funding will allow Texas Performing Arts to further develop classical music programming and participation activities that have been underwritten by The Mellon Foundation since their initial $450,000 award in 2011.

September 10, 2014...Brooklyn, N.Y. Arnold L. Lehman, Shelby White and Leon Levy Director of the Brooklyn Museum, announced yesterday at the fall meeting of the Board of Trustees that he will retire in mid-2015. Lehman, who turned 70 in July, joined the Brooklyn Museum as Director in September 1997.

American Opera Projects (AOP) has announced that it has been awarded a major grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The $200,000, active through December 2016, will support artistic initiatives by AOP: the Composers & the Voice and First Chance programs.
