HowlRound, a knowledge commons by and for the theatre community, and the New England Foundation for the Arts will host a special convening of key stakeholders from the arts, healthcare, and military communities for deep discussion on practices, learning, challenges and impact around creating and presenting arts projects addressing military and veterans issues.

ODC Theater is proud to present David Gordon and Pick Up Performance Co(s) in the world premiere of LIVE ARCHIVEOGRAPHY, a retrospective tracing five decades of the legendary theater and dance artist's work. Live Archiveography runs April 20 -22, Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m.

In the final subscription concerts of his tenure as Music Director, Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic joined by musicians from orchestras around the world in concerts celebrating the power of music to build bridges and unite people across borders. Those invited to participate include members of orchestras from Australia, China, Cuba, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The program, taking place Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 9 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 10 at 8:00 p.m., will include Mahler's Symphony No. 7. Special guest artists will include cellist Yo-Yo Ma, on June 8, and trumpet player Wynton Marsalis, on June 9.

At the Mezzanine Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 W 53rd Street), Soho Rep. is pleased to present the world premiere of Richard Maxwell's Samara, commissioned by Artistic Director Sarah Benson. In a departure, Maxwell, who has directed nearly all 20 of his plays, is handing over the directorial duties to Benson. Maxwell's work was seen previously at Soho Rep. in 2001 with Cavemen and in 1999 with Cowboys and Indians.

Playwrights Horizons, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tim Sanford and Managing Director Leslie Marcus, is proud to announce the six productions of its 2017/2018 Season.  The six new works will be presented at the theater company's home at 416 West 42nd Street. 

The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) continues its commitment to opening the doors on its process of creating innovative musical experiences with its next installment of free OpenICE events at the Abron Arts Center's Underground Theater from Wednesday, March 1 to Sunday, March 5.

Center for Performance Research (CPR), an artist-driven organization co-founded by Jonah Bokaer Choreography and John Jasperse & Thin Man Dance, Inc. to support the development of new works in contemporary dance, announced today its Spring Season. CPR's Artist-in-Residence, technical residency, and presenting programs offer multiple platforms aimed to support creative development and experimentation during the artistic process. CPRs 1,845 sq ft theater features a LED lighting system; making it one the most technically advanced venues of its size within the five boroughs. 

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces four Rolling World Premieres: Halftime with Don by Ken Weitzman, Doublewide by Stephen Spotswood, The Arsonists by Jacqueline Goldfinger, and Building the Wall by Robert Schenkkan. The four plays will receive a total of 15 NNPN RWP productions, with each play seeing at least three distinct productions in a discrete 12-month period.

The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers invites the public to "Artists and Activism: A View from Behind the Gorilla Mask" on Monday, February 27, beginning at 7 p.m. This free program features two former members of the original Guerrilla Girls, a group of anonymous artists that formed in 1985 to expose inequality within the art world, to discuss their experiences carrying out that mission.

For three nights in March, a former medical marijuana dispensary in Seattle's University District will transform into a makeshift theatre cafe. Inspired by Joe Cino's legendary Greenwich Village performance space, Caffe Cino, the space will house performances of six short plays from the early days of Off Off Broadway. 

The Public Theater announced the fourth season of PUBLIC STUDIO, which will present two new plays this spring.

The OBIE-winning HERE proudly presents CULTUREMART 2017, taking place March 15 - 25.  In this annual festival, CULTUREMART, process becomes the focus, offering a first look at live performance in various stages of development from the boundary-breaking artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) as they journey to mainstage production.

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is thrilled to welcome back to its stage Australia's hottest ticket in contemporary dance, Sydney Dance Company, in a mixed bill program featuring three New York premieres showcasing the company's strong, athletic contemporary style from March 7 - 12.

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) presents "The Invention of Morel," a world premiere of the co-commissioned opera composed by Stewart Copeland, co-founder and drummer of The Police. Based on Argentinian author Adolfo Bioy Casares' 1940 novel "La invencion de Morel," Copeland's new adaptation examines the triumph of time-bending love over convention in a story of adoration and desire. "The Invention of Morel" features London-based actor, director and writer Jonathan Moore as Stage Director/Librettist together with COT's Artistic Director Andreas Mitisek as Conductor. The press performance will be February 18 at 7:30 p.m. Subsequent performances will be February 24 at 7:30 p.m.and February 26 at 3 p.m.

Victory Gardens Theater continues its season with the World Premiere of A Wonder In My Soul, written by ensemble playwright Marcus Gardley and directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew. A Wonder In My Soul runs February 10 - March 12, 2017, with the press performance today, February 17, 2017, at 7:30 pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

The University of the Arts' Ira Brind School of Theater Arts announces the lineup for year three of Polyphone, a 'festival of the emerging musical' at UArts in Philadelphia.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) announces that the 2016 Tony Award winner for Best Actress in a Musical and 2017 Grammy Award winner, Cynthia Erivo, will headline its enormously popular annual Classical Roots concert at Crossroads Oakley in Cincinnati on Friday, May 5, 2017 (7:30 p.m.).

Music Director Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra return to Europe to perform at prominent music festivals from August 25 to September 9, 2017.
