Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts opens its 2017-18 Composer Portraits series with Marcos Balter.

THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, PURCHASE COLLEGE (The PAC) welcome new friends, Jessica Lang Dance, and old, Suzanne Farrell Ballet to dance this year at the center.

Peak Performances will present the American Premiere of The Force of Things: An Opera for Objects, from composer Ashley Fure.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival production of Luis Alfaro's Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles comes to The Armory after a triumphant six-month run in Ashland. Directed by Juliette Carrillo, this powerful adaptation of Euripides' Medea set in modern-day Los Angeles features the same cast as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival run: Sabina Zuniga Varela as Medea, Lakin Valdez as Jason , VIVIS as Tita, Nancy Rodriguez as Josefina, Vilma Silva as Armida, and Jahnangel Jimenez as Acan. New to the company is Ken Yoshikawa as Soldier.

Z Space, one of the nation's leading laboratories for the development of new theater works, is pleased to announce its 25th Anniversary in 2018. Los Angeles Performance Practice (LAPP) announces the full program for the Los Angeles Exchange LAX Festival, 5th Ed. Presented October 5 15, 2017 at multiple locations across downtown Los Angeles, the LAX Festival puts Los Angeles-based artists front-and-center, presented in dialogue with projects by guest artists from a select city of exchange this year with artists and organizations based in Mexcio City. Launched in 2013 and now in its fifth edition, the LAX Festival gathers adventurous audiences for ten days of inspiring performances, including new dance, experimental opera, interactive theater, literary performance and much more.

Ensemble Connect, comprised of some of the finest young professional classical musicians in the United States, continues its two-year fellowship program this season with concerts at Carnegie Hall and The Juilliard School, as well as residencies and performances at The Pocantico Center of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund; Skidmore College; and in schools and community venues throughout New York City. Highlights of the Ensemble's 2017-2018 season include the premiere performances of bright and fair, a new work by Gabriel Kahane, commissioned by Carnegie Hall for its 125 Commissions Project, featuring Mr. Kahane as guest vocalist in Weill Recital Hall on February 19. This fall, Ensemble Connect travels to The Pocantico Center in Tarrytown, New York to collaborate with composer Andy Akiho on a new work, also commissioned by Carnegie Hall, to premiere in 2018.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, celebrates the opening of three Rolling World Premieres: Project Dawn by Karen Hartman, The Arsonists by Jacqueline Goldfinger, and Br'er Cotton by Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm. American Lyric Theater presents The New Crew, a salon including performances by and discussions with American Lyric Theater's newest Resident Artists in the Composer Librettist Development Program: composers Shuying Li, Andy Teirstein, and Liliya Ugay; librettists Lorene Cary, Julian Crouch, and Lila Palmer; and dramaturg Antigoni Gaitana.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Fall 2017 performance and residency series, which runs September 21 through December 15 and features an exciting lineup of international artists and cross-border collaborations. Paul Taylor American Modern Dance (PTAMD) will present its annual Season at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center from March 7 to 25, 2018. The Season will introduce the World Premiere of Paul Taylor's 147th dance, and feature World premieres of dances choreographed by Doug Varone and Bryan Arias commissioned through Taylor Company Commissions and made on the Taylor dancers. Special guest artist Sara Mearns, New York City Ballet Principal Dancer, will perform Dances of Isadora reconstructed by Isadora Duncan Dance Company Artistic Director Lori Belilove. Trisha Brown Dance Company will perform Trisha Brown's Set and Reset. Music will be performed live on every program by Orchestra of St. Luke's, conducted by Taylor Music Director/Maestro Donald York and Maestro David LaMarche.
