Laurie Berg to Receive 2016 Tommy Award; Ceremony to be Held in May

Dixon Place announced the recipient of the 4th Annual 2016 Tom Murrin Performance Award, also known as "The Tommy." A transformative career opportunity for an emerging NYC-based artist or company, this year's award will be presented to Laurie Berg, known for her absurd, darkly humorous choreography and living collages. The 4th Annual Tommy Award presentation will take place at the Howl! Happening Gallery (6 East 1st Street) at 4pm as part of the Luna Macaroona Full Moon Performance Series. The event is free to attend. Featured performers include Agosto Machado, Nora Burns, Miss Joan Marie Moossy, Pedro J. Rosado Jr., Monstah Black, Jacqueline Zahora, Patricia Sullivan, Louise Belle Ethyl May, Annabel Clare Sexton-Daldry, Joe E. Jeffries, Nicky Paraiso, Black Eyed Susan and more.

Ars Nova's Production of Bess Wohl's SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS to Return to NYC for Limited Run This Summer

Producer Eva Price announced today the critically acclaimed production of Small Mouth Sounds, written by Bess Wohl, will return to New York, playing a strictly limited engagement this summer. Small Mouth Sounds, directed by Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812), begins previews for a commercial run at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street) on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at 7:30pm, with an official opening night set for Wednesday, July 13, 2016. The show is set to run through September 25, 2016

A.R.T. & OBERON to Present the TEAM's ROOSEVELVIS

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) and OBERON are pleased to present the TEAM's RoosevElvis, created by Rachel Chavkin, Libby King, Jake Margolin, and Kristein Sieh with Matt Hubbs, Andrew Schneider, and Nick Vaughan, directed by Rachel Chavkin. Sundance Institute Names Artists for 2016 Playwrights & Composers Retreat at Ucross Foundation

Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for the 2016 Playwrights & Composers Retreat at Ucross Foundation in Wyoming, February 2-20. The retreat is one of the 25 residency Labs the Institute hosts each year for independent artists in theatre, film, new media and episodic content, and is made possible through the generosity of the Ucross Foundation. Over 90 Sundance artists have benefitted from time at Ucross Foundation including Charlayne Woodard, Jeanine Tesori, Doug Wright, Annie Baker, Adam Guettel, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Tanya Saracho.

With a troupe of six actors portraying the iconic and dangerous female temptress, Salome - the original femme fatale - Siladi creates a theatrical collage that depicts myriad Salomes found throughout history. This provocative interpretation explores from a female perspective why sex is perpetually and inextricably linked to danger.

Mass Live Arts Karaoke Challenge Set for Today

As part of the third annual Mass Live Arts Festival, the Artistic Director Ilan Bachrach hereby challenges all art institutions in the Berkshires to face the staff, artists, and distinguished guests of MLA/15 in a Karaoke Death Match. The duel is to be held late night, beginning 10 pm after the main festivities of the MLA Benefit Party, happening from 9:30 pm tonight, July 10th at the beautiful campus of Bard College at Simon's Rock.

America Ferrera & More Set for 2015 Theatre Lab at Sundance Resort

Sundance Institute today announced the acting company and creative advisors that are participating in its 2015 Theatre Lab, which kicked off yesterday and runs through July 26 at the Sundance Resort in Utah. Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Lab is the centerpiece of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community and is one of 24 residency Labs the Institute hosts each year for independent artists in theatre, film, new media and episodic content.
