Written by Alex Timbers, Music and Lyrics by Michael Friedman, and directed by Marie Tredway, this production of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson opens on May 4, 2018 at Three Brothers Theatre Upstage, located at 221 N. Genesee St in Waukegan, IL.

MRT Appoints New Director For Young Company, Its Professional Theatre Training Program For High School Students

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) invites high schools students to register for Young Company, a professional theatre training program and one of MRT's signature education initiatives. Will Rogers, a creative producer, director, and performer, will become the new director for the 2018-19 session. Guest teaching artists this year include MRT alums-playwright, director, and actor Vichet Chum (KNYUM) and fight choreographer Angie Jepson (The Villains' Supper Club)-as well as Los Angeles-based acting teacher Richard Liccardo.

GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS has announced it will record the new musical Miss You Like Hell, the New York premiere production from The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham), for an original cast recording to be released later this year. With book and lyrics by Quiara Alegria Hudes, music and lyrics by Erin McKeown, and choreography by Danny Mefford, the new musical was directed by Public Theater Resident Director and Founder of Public Works Lear deBessonet, and stars Daphne Rubin-Vega and Gizel Jimenez. The recording is being produced by Erin McKeown and Kurt Deutsch.

Walton Arts Center started the 2018-19 Procter & Gamble Broadway Series with a Rodgers and Hammerstein favorite, The King and I, and the season is ending with another classic from the duo, The Sound of Music. Featuring music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, The Sound of Music will have audiences humming along to favorite tunes and falling in love again with Maria and the von Trapp Family.
CMA Foundation Honors 2018 Music Teachers of Excellence

The CMA Foundation honored 34 music educators during the third annual CMA Music Teachers of Excellence ceremony last night, Tuesday, May 8, at Nashville's Marathon Music Works. The invite-only event, hosted by RCA Records Nashville recording artist as well as CMA and CMA Foundation board member Chris Young, celebrated teachers from districts across the state of Tennessee as well as cities Chicago, Cincinnati, Los Angeles and Seattle for their advocacy and commitment to music education. More than a dozen Country artists and celebrities attended the ceremony in addition to Nashville Mayor David Briley, Metro Nashville Public Schools Superintendent Shawn Joseph, CMA and CMA Foundation board members, industry leaders, and representatives from eight CMA Foundation beneficiary programs.

Reviving a great theatrical tradition, Boston's crown jewel reopens its doors this summer with the World Premiere engagement of the musical, based on the 2001 20th Century Fox Motion Picture by Baz Luhrmann.
