BENSON Plays the Marlowe Studio Tonight

Canterbury-based Victoria Field took part in Marlowe's Playwrights, The Marlowe's termly course on writing for the stage. It is there that she wrote Benson, which is based on events in the life of Edward White Benson, Bishop of Truro and later Archbishop of Canterbury. The play explores a number of themes, including the use and abuse of power, the nature of love, family and marital relationships, faith and loss, the role of iconic buildings in public life and the cost of creativity.

Marlowe Theatre Celebrates Birth of Namesake with Marlowe450

THE MARLOWE Theatre is marking the 450th anniversary of the birth of its playwright namesake with a season of performances and talks. Christopher Marlowe's greatest works are returning to the theatre named after him with two plays, Faustus and The Jew Of Malta; a third play, The Massacre Of Paris, will be performed in the crypt of Canterbury Cathedral.

The winner of The Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award was announced at the closing ceremonies of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on Friday, August 23 at 10:45 AM BST (5:45 AM EST).

Following acclaimed performances internationally, Theatre for a New Audience, in association with Baryshnikov Arts Center, will present the New York premiere of C.I.C.T. / Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord's Fragments from the texts by Samuel Beckett for only 29 performances at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, 450 West 37th Street.

Goodbye New York, Goodbye Heart runs from December 1 - 21, 2010 in a limited engagement at HERE, located at 145 6th Avenue Enter on Dominick, 1 block south of Spring in NYC. Previews began December 1 for a December 2 opening.
