David Link Named Chief Digital Officer at Lincoln Center

David Link has been appointed Chief Digital Officer, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA), it was announced today by Jed Bernstein, President. Link was previously Creative Director of The Wonderfactory, a digital innovation design studio that he co-founded. He comes to Lincoln Center with 20 years of experience in digital strategy, marketing, and product development for top media companies and Fortune 500 brands.

Live From Lincoln Center to Feature NY Phil & Norm Lewis on New Year's Eve

Live From Lincoln Center-now in its 40th anniversary season-continues an annual tradition with the New York Philharmonic's New Year's Eve Celebration, ringing in 2015 with an all-Gershwin program as jazz greatDianne Reeves, Broadway leading man Norm Lewis, and conductor Bramwell Tovey join the New York Philharmonic. The broadcast, coming from the Philharmonic's New Year's Eve concert at Avery Fisher Hall, will include Gershwin's Cuban Overture, his own suite of music from Porgy and Bess, and selections from the Gershwin songbook, such as 'Strike Up the Band.' This special Live From Lincoln Center 40th anniversary season broadcast of 'New York Philharmonic New Year's Eve: Gershwin Celebration' will air as part of PBS's New Year's Eve line-up on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. (*check local listings), with special guest host Willie Geist of TODAY on NBC and Morning Joe on MSNBC.

Douglas Carter Beane's 2013 drama The Nance, produced by Lincoln Center Theater and headlined by two-time Tony Award-winning actor Nathan Lane, is currently playing in more than 300 movie theatres in the U.S. and Canada for a limited run during Gay Pride Week in many cities. In The Nance, celebrated playwright Douglas Carter Beane tells the story of Chauncey Miles (Nathan Lane), a headline nance performer in the twilight of New York burlesque's era. Integrating burlesque sketches into his drama, Beane paints the portrait of a homosexual man living and working in the secretive and dangerous gay world of 1930's New York, whose outrageous antics on the burlesque stage stand in marked contrast to his messy offstage life. Live From Lincoln Center will broadcast the Richard Tucker Music Foundation's 2013 gala concert, one of the most highly anticipated events of the opera season, from Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. The concert event will celebrate the legendary tenor's centenary with an illustrious all-American group of singers, and honoring this year'sRichard Tucker Award winner Isabel Leonard. The 'Richard Tucker at 100: An Opera Celebration' broadcast-hosted byAudra McDonald and featuring interstitial interviews with the artists, segments from backstage, and a short documentary on Richard Tucker's life-is taped from a concert on November 17, and will air on PBS stations tonight, January 10, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. (ET) (check local listings).

A "dream team of opera singers" (New York Times) will light up TV screens across the country on Friday, January 10 at 9 p.m. EST (check local listings) in the national broadcast of "Richard Tucker at 100: An Opera Celebration." Hosted by Audra McDonald for PBS's Emmy Award-winning Live From Lincoln Center, the telecast captures the Richard Tucker Music Foundation's recent gala concert at Avery Fisher Hall, which honored the legendary tenor's centennial. Isabel Leonard, the 2013 Richard Tucker Award-winner and a rising star in the U.S. and abroad, joined many of today's biggest names in opera-Stephanie Blythe, Stephen Costello, Joyce DiDonato, Renee Fleming, Susan Graham, Greer Grimsley, Angela Meade, Eric Owens, Ailyn Perez and Matthew Polenzani-for arias and ensembles by Verdi, Rossini, Donizetti, Puccini, Offenbach and more with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Choral Society led by Maestro Riccardo Frizza.

LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER to Broadcast New York Philharmonic's Opening Gala Concert, 12/31; Audra McDonald to Host

Live From Lincoln Center will ring in the new year with a special broadcast of the New York Philharmonic's Opening Gala concert from Avery Fisher Hall featuring Music Director Alan Gilbert and special guest cello soloist Yo-Yo Ma. The Opening Gala concert, to be taped on September 25, will feature dance-inspired orchestral works, including Azul by Osvaldo Golijov, a cello concert written for Ma; the world premiere of an arrangement of Astor Piazzolla's La serie del Ángel by Octavio Brunetti, commissioned by the New York Phliharmonic; and two classics by Maurice Ravel,Alborada del gracioso and Bolero. The broadcast-hosted by Audra McDonald and featuring interstitial interviews with Yo-Yo Ma and composer Osvaldo Golijov-will air on PBS stations on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 8 p.m. (ET) (check local listings).
