MISS SAIGON receives the documentary treatment, again!

BCameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES will celebrate its 500th performance today at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street).   Now in its second year on Broadway, this newly-reimagined production of LES MISERABLES opened on Broadway March 23, 2014.

Internationally-renowned performer Alfie Boe will return to Broadway to star as 'Jean Valjean' in Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new Broadway production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's Les Miserables, now in its second year at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Boe begins performances in Les Miserables Tuesday, September 1. Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo will give his final performance as Valjean on Sunday, August 30. Boe made his Broadway debut as Rodolfo in Baz Luhrmann's acclaimed production La Boheme, for which he and his co-stars received a special Tony Award in 2003 for their performances.

Acclaimed British actor Earl Carpenter will return to the role of Javert in Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES beginning Tuesday, May 12 at Broadway's Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Will Swenson will give his final performance as Javert Sunday, May 10. Carpenter performed the role on Broadway last summer while Swenson was on hiatus from the production for another project.

Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil & Schonberg's Les Miserables just welcomed several new cast members for its second year on Broadway last night, March 3 at The Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Joining the cast are Tony and Oliver Award nominee Gavin Lee (Mary Poppins) as Thenardier, Erika Henningsen as Fantine, Rachel Izen as Madame Thenardier, Brennyn Lark as Eponine, Chris McCarrell as Marius and Wallace Smith as Enjolras. Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo will perform as Jean Valjean through the end of the summer; Will Swenson, as Javert, and Samantha Hill, as Cosette, will continue in their roles as well. Tony Award winner Nikki M. James will give her final performance as Eponine in the Cameron Mackintosh production of Boublil & Schonberg's Les Miserables today, January 11. Erin Clemons will take over the role from January 13 through February 8, with Brittney Johnson performing the role February 10 through March 1. Additional principal casting for the production's second year on Broadway will be announced in the coming weeks.

MISS SAIGON understudies, Carolyn Maitland (Ellen u/s) and Dale Evans (Chris u/s) have sung 'White Christmas' to raise money for Cancer Research in the UK.

Miss Saigon flew into the West End once more this year - and the new production has swept the board at the 2014 BWW:UK Awards.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Andy Mientus, who currently plays 'Marius' in LES MISERABLES on Broadway, will soon make an appearance on the small screen as 'Pied Piper' in CW's THE FLASH. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Mientus will be out of the show October 23 through November 18 to film the series. During that time, the role will be played by understudies Chris McCarrell (October 23-November 2) and Matt Rosell (November 4-18).
