Mario Frangoulis to Perform at Nourse Auditorium, 11/8

Mario Frangoulis, the world-renowned powerhouse tenor, makes his San Francisco debut with his electrifying voice and stunning charisma, in a one-night-only performance at the Nourse Auditorium (275 Hayes Street, San Francisco) on Friday, November 8, 2013. Unveiling songs from his new, critically acclaimed international release, Beautiful Things, Frangoulis will continue his limited Unite States tour with performances at the Harris Theater in Chicago on Sunday, November 10 and The Rose Theatre at Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York on Saturday, November 16. Frangoulis will donate a portion of proceeds from these three performances to charity. Meet the Cast of NOLI ME TANGERE Opera; Show Runs 10/4-6

This year's The Outstanding Filipino Americans in New York Heritage Award recipient The Foundation for Filipino Artists Inc., together with executive committee members Loida Nicolas Lewis, Aida Bartolome, Jerry Sibal, Michael Dadap, Dr. Angie Cruz, Edwin Josue and Robert Perlstein, brings to New York Felipe Padilla de Leon, Philippine National Artist for Music, and Guillermo Tolentino's 1957 opera 'Noli Me Tangere,' based on the 1887 classic romantic novel by Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippines' national hero.

Cristina Fontanelli to Make Metropolitan Room Debut, 9/20

Following sold-out performances at Feinstein's, singer CRISTINA FONTANELLI will make her Metropolitan Room debut on Friday, September 20 at 9pm, with her highly acclaimed show With A Song in My Heart. Hosted by PBS (WNET Thirteen/WLIW 21), NJTV, CPTV, ABC WTNH-TV & 'Close-Up TV' news personality, Jim Masters, Cristina will be accompanied by Dennis Buck on piano, Ray Kilday on bass & Ray Grappone on drums.

Michael Krajewski to Open Philly POPS' VIVA PHILADELPHIA! Season with Guest Eddie Bruce, 10/11-13

It's a new era for The Philly POPS and a chance for audiences to share in the excitement of this first season under the baton of new music director Michael Krajewski. The Philly POPS opens its 2013-14 season with the theme 'Viva Philadelphia!' - a celebration of the City and of Philadelphia's Italian spirit as well as a demonstration of the maestro's special love for vocal music. It's a fitting theme, as the new maestro celebrates the City that will be another POPS home for this nationally recognized conductor. It's also fitting as this first series of The POPS 35th season falls on Columbus weekend, a time of special significance in a city with a rich Italian heritage. With performances on Friday, October 11 through Sunday October 13, POPS concerts will continue to be presented in a series of Friday evenings at 8 p.m., followed by Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. at Verizon Hall of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts on Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia.

Village People's Randy Jones to Marry Will Grega This Week in NYC

Multi-platinum recording artist and American Music Award winner, Randy Jones, the original Cowboy from Village People, will wed his partner, Will Grega, during three days of New York events from Thursday, September 12 to Saturday, September 14, 2013.

TWILIGHT OF THE HIMALAYAS and More Set for New York Choral Society's 2013-14 Season

Music Director David Hayes has announced the New York Choral Society's (NYCS) 56th concert season. The season opens on September 22, 2013, when the New York Choral Society will make a guest appearance with the Detroit Symphony under the direction of Yongyan Hu in a performance of a new piece by Xaiogang Ye, Twilight of the Himalayas at Avery Fisher Hall. On November 17, NYCS will appear as guest performers for the 20th time at the Richard Tucker Music Foundation Gala at Avery Fisher Hall. The NYCS make its 11th appearance with Andrea Bocelli at the Barclays Center on December 11. For the holiday season the New York Choral Society will present Christmas at Carnegie Hall on December 17 with a program of classical, contemporary and traditional Christmas music featuring mezzo-soprano Heather Johnson. The season concludes on April 29 at Carnegie Hall with Gustav Holst's The Hymn of Jesus and the New York Premiere of Pulitzer prize-winning Jennifer Higdon's The Singing Rooms with Jennifer Koh, violin.

Denyce Graves to Join Sphinx Virtuosi and Catalyst Quartet at Harris Theater, 10/1

The Harris Theater for Music and Dance welcomes back the internationally renowned Sphinx Virtuosi (formerly known as the Sphinx Chamber Orchestra) and the Catalyst Quartet, joined by celebrated mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves on Tuesday October 1, 2013 at 7:30 pm. This one-time collaboration between Ms. Graves and Sphinx can only be seen at the Harris.

ArtsLab Onstage to premiere T'AMMORE & BELCANTO, Begin. 10/16

In 'the year of Italian culture in the United States' sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,ArtsLab Onstage (www.ArtsLabOnstageNYC.com) will present T'Ammore, 'The Spirit of Naples' and Belcanto, 'The Luciano Pavarotti Heritage' at New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street). T'Ammore, will play October 16th and 18th and Belcanto, produced in collaboration with the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, will play October 17th and 19th, all shows at 8pm.

Chris Botti to Open New York Pops' 2013-14 Season at Carnegie Hall, 10/4

On Friday, October 4 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, opens its 2013-2014 concert season at Carnegie Hall with special guest Chris Botti. The internationally renowned jazz trumpeter joins The New York Pops to perform a new spin on classic standards and other favorites. The performance will include songs such as When I Fall In Love and Emmanuel in addition to other selections from Botti's recent Grammy Award-winning album Impressions.

Chris Botti to Launch 2013-14 Season at New York Pops, 10/4

On October 4, 2013, The New York Pops orchestra will launch its 31st Season at Carnegie Hall with An Evening with Chris Botti. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke - described by The New York Times as a "polished, welcoming host" who is "young and vigorous, with a playful attitude" - will lead the orchestra in a highly-anticipated opening with America's largest-selling instrumental artist, trumpeter Chris Botti. The performance will include selections such as Chopin's "Prelude in C Minor," "Emmanuel," and "When I Fall in Love" from his recent Grammy Award-winning album Impressions, as well as other popular favorites, at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.
