The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA)honors extraordinary talent in the Toronto performing arts community as they host the 33rd annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards tonight, Monday, June 25, at the St. St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts in the Bluma Appel Theater. New Haarlem Arts Theatre Presents 'Latina's Tale' SWEET CHARITY, 7/26-8/19

The Latino spirit is alive in New Harlem Arts Theatre's upcoming production of 'Sweet Charity,' directed by Julio Agustin, to be presented July 26 to August 19 at CCNY's Aaron Davis Hall, 135th Street and Convent Ave. The characters of the classic sixties musical will be re-envisioned to reflect the changing roles of Latinos in our society while the traditional music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields and book by Neil Simon will be preserved. The 1966 Broadway tuner was originally conceived, staged and choreographed by Bob Fosse. Director Julio Agustin has tapped choreographer Lainie Munro for the job of nestling his radical new concept into Fosse's formative jazz dances.

Yara Arts Group Comes to La MaMa With DREAM BRIDGE, Now thru 5/13

Yara Arts Group, a resident company of La MaMa Experimental Theater in New York, will perform 'Dream Bridge' tonight, April 27 to May 13. The work is an original, experimental theater piece featuring Yara artists from New York, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. The production, created by Virlana Tkacz, is based on a Ukrainian poem 'Dream' by Oleh Lysheha and uses fragments from Shakespeare's 'Midsummer Night's Dream' (mentioned in the poem), as well as the dreams and nightmares of the participants. It features Kyrgyz traditional music, as well as an electronic score by Kyiv composer Alla Zahaykevych. Interweaving performances in English, Ukrainian and Kyrgyz, 'Dream Bridge' is highly visual show and completely accessible to all audiences.

WOMEN WHO CARE Luncheon to Honor Robin Roberts, Amy Lee and More

Loreen Arbus, Founder & Chair of Women Who Care and Edward R. Matthews, CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, today announced the honorees for The 11th Annual Women Who Care Luncheon, benefitting United Cerebral Palsy of New York City. The event will be held on Thursday, May 3rd, at Cipriani 42nd Street.

Taylor High School Black Box Theatre Presents Lone Star and Laundry, 11/17-19

Lone Star and Laundry are two complementary one-act plays written by James McLure. Though not a native Texan, McLure is known as a premier Texas playwright because he graduated from SMU's theatre department in 1973 and his best-known plays are prized for their precise capture of the feel and character of West Texas. Not to mention the great southern humor running through every page! McLure died in February of this year from cancer. He was 59.

Justin Bieber, David Guetta Added to List of 2011 MTV EMA Performers

The line-up for the '2011 MTV EMA' is officially complete! MTV today announced worldwide sensation Justin Bieber and GRAMMY-winning artist/producer/DJ David Guetta with special guest performers will be joining the party in Belfast, Northern Ireland for the world's biggest night in music.
