BWW Review: Premiere of FLOWERS IN THE WARDROBE is Hilarious Romp Into Land of Talking Animals & Witches

The premiere of Flowers in the Wardrobe currently is playing at the Arts Asylum at 1000 E. 9th in Kansas City, Mo. Produced by Whim Productions and directed by Steven Eubank it is the first full-length production by the theatrical company. Eubank brings his flamboyant comedy style to the show, giving the audience an abundance of humor and wit. 'We're so excited to have Steven on board! His campy aesthetic is a perfect fit for the crazy story I've written,' Kevin King said.

New Line Theatre, 'the Bad Boy of Musical Theatre,' created a side identity last season called New Line Theatre Off Line, a framework for the New Line actors to explore other music and theatre projects, including New Line's own unique brand of adult cabaret, and other kinds of performance opportunities, as well as master classes, workshops, and more. New Line actor Mike Dowdy (Forbidden Planet, Spelling Bee, The Wild Party, Evita, Two Gentlemen of Verona, bare, Cry-Baby, High Fidelity, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) heads up the Off Line brand under his title of New Line's Associate Artistic Director.

FOUR FUNNY WOMEN AND DAVE Sketch Show Premieres Tonight for B Street: Live!

The B Street Theatre's newest venture B Street: Live! brings an all-new show entitled 'Four Funny Women and Dave' to Assembly this Thursday. Since opening in March, B Street: Live! has steadily attracted Sacramento audiences to Paragary's Assembly on K Street and earned regional attention and praise. The troupe has always promised to debut new, original programming at the venue every six weeks.

You'd have to have been a hermit living in a cave the past few years not to be aware of the cultural impact of J. K. Rowling's seven best-selling Harry Potter books. Not to mention the eight blockbuster movies that they spawned. The last couple years may have seen the "Twilight" series overshadow them slightly, but Harry still has a huge following that's not going away any time soon. The Magic Smoking Monkey Theatre takes full advantage of this following by presenting the fun and funny STUPEFY! THE 90 MINUTE HARRY POTTER.
