Beginning February 4th, the Purchase Repertory Theatre of SUNY will present an evening of short plays and scenes by the Pulitzer-winning John Patrick Shanley at the Emelin Thetare in Mamaroneck. Shanley is perhaps best known as the author of Doubt and the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Moonstruck. These pieces, like his characters, are funny, romantic, brutal, full of longing and haunted by demons all at the same time.

The 67th Golden Globe Awards were broadcast live on NBC tonight from the Beverly Hilton. The awards ceremony was seen in more than 160 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements. Winners of this year's awards include GLEE for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical, Meryl Streep for 'Julie & Julia', Michael C. Hall for 'Dexter', Alec Baldwin for '30 Rock', John Lithgow for his role on 'Dexter', Christoph Waltz for 'Inglourious Basterds', and HBO's 'Grey Gardens'.
Meryl Streep Says She's Ready to Return to Broadway

After an absence of more than 30 years, Meryl Streep told reporters tonight, backstage after winning her Golden Globe Award that she is ready to return to Broadway. She told assembled press that 'I don't have a plan for that, but I would like to. I always said when my children grew up and went to college, I could think about that. And, that happened this year, so I'm looking.'

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes treated daughter Suri Cruise to evening out at the Ahmanson Theatre to see the LA engagement of the beloved stage musical, MARY POPPINS. This is the second time Suri has seen the world's most famous nanny on stage. Katie brought her to see the smash hit Broadway production in August 2008 during NY rehearsals for her own Broadway debut in Arthur Miller's All My Sons.
Dreamworks to Memorialize Gershwin in Feinstein-Produced Biopic

Variety reports that DreamWorks will be memorializing composer George Gershwin in a new biopic to be penned by Memoirs of a Geisha writer and Creditor's director Doug Wright, and produced by Marc Platt ('Wanted') and famed singer and pianist Michael Feinstein.
