The A.R.T. won seven Elliot Norton Awards given by the Boston Theatre Critics Association honoring Boston's best theatre productions. Gaiety ruled at the 33rd Annual Elliot Norton Awards ceremony as Ryan Landry, impresario of the Gold Dust Orphans, received the Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence, and comedian-actress-jazz musician Lea DeLaria was the Guest of Honor. Bragging rights went to American Repertory Theater with seven wins in the large theater categories, while Lyric Stage Company led all midsize theaters with four wins.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) will partner with local artists on its upcoming lobby exhibit inspired by the work on stage. Curated by Gretjen Helene and co-designed by Johnathan Carr, the Lobby Experience for The Last Two People On Earth: An Apocalyptic Vaudeville features an interactive installation created by new media artists Cindy Sherman Bishop and Martha Bourne that imagines the future of Boston as sea levels rise. The work will be on display during the run of the production in the A.R.T.'s West Lobby from May 12 - May 31.
Second Stage Theatre has announced two New York Premiere productions for its upcoming 37th season. The season will kick off in fall 2015 with the New York Premiere production of Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews' new musical, INVISIBLE THREAD (previously titled Witness Uganda), in association with American Repertory Theater, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Finding Neverland, Pippin). The season will continue in early 2016 with the New York premiere of Lydia R. Diamond's (Stick Fly) critically acclaimed play, SMART PEOPLE, directed by Tony Award Winner Kenny Leon (Fences, A Raisin in the Sun, Stick Fly). Two additional productions remain to be announced.
The Muny announced today several principal cast members for the seven shows in its spectacular 97th season, which opens on June 15 with My Fair Lady. Full casts and companies will be announced throughout May.
