The Center for Ballet Arts has announced their schedule of  fall 2016 events

Pennsylvania Ballet has announced the extension of Artistic Director Angel Corella's contract through the 2021-2022 season.

Malpaso Dance Company returns in 2016 to the scene of their overwhelming, standing- room-only triumph in the 2015 YARD ARTS season with two (2) new and different programs - 1) a sparkling repertory of Cuban and American works on Tuesday, August 16th at the MVPAC in Oak Bluffs (at 7 PM); and 2) a work in progress, Dreaming of Lions, based on Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea," developed in part in a Yard 2016 Offshore Creation Residency, on Thursday, August 18th, at The Yard's Patricia Nanon Theater (2 performances, at 11 AM and 8 PM).

World-renown ballerina Misty Copeland wed her longtime beau, Olu Evans yesterday, July 31st.

Boston Ballet presents a one-day-only performance, First Look, featuring new and returning dancers in Boston Ballet II (BBII), the second company, and select Boston Ballet School Summer Dance Program (SDP) students. SDP students will perform alongside BBII company members in a range of works curated to reflect the main Company's diverse repertoire.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts will celebrate Mexico's revered Dia de los Muertos with performances by Perla Batalla, La Santa Cecilia, Pacifico Dance and Quetzal on November 2, 2016 in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall starting at 7:30 p.m. Four performances will take place in a single concert: Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Perla Batalla, LA bands La Santa Cecilia and Quetzal and Pacifico Dance Company.

Final performances for American Ballet Theatre's New York Summer Intensive Program are scheduled for Today, July 29, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. and 2:30 P.M. at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, New York.

DENVER – Colorado Ballet Artistic Director Gil Boggs promoted Corps de Ballet dancers Morgan Buchanan and Kevin Gaël Thomas to Soloists.  In addition, Boggs promoted two Studio Company dancers to Apprentices, for a total of 30 professional Company dancers for the 2016-2017 season.

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) has announced the winners of the 2016 Princess Grace Awards.  The Annual Gala will continue the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, who helped emerging artists pursue their artistic goals during Her lifetime.  In total, the Foundation is awarding over $1 million to artists in theater, dance, and film.   In the presence of Their Serene Highnesses The Prince and The Princess of Monaco, this year's Gala will be held at Cipriani 25 Broadway on October 24, 2016.  The evening will be co-chaired by Lisa and Richard Plepler, Sidney and Katia Toledano, and Gillian Murphy and Ethan Stiefel. Major Gala supporters include: Christian Dior Couture, as Presenting Sponsor and Mrs. Lily Safra as Crown Sponsor.

Instead of the usual gala fare -- bits of firecracker variations and pieces of ballet classics -- Sergei Danilian's 'Ardani 25 Dance Gala' at New York City Center, August 19 and 20, is classic Danilian. The intrepid impresario, who has never side-stepped risk, will celebrate Ardani Artists's quarter century of producing in the United States and abroad with a trio of U.S. premieres, two by young, unknown, but up-and-coming Russian choreographers, and one by American Ballet Theatre principal Marcelo Gomes.

Though it was hot and muggy on the evening of July 24th, 2016, the jam-packed audience at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center was grinning agog like newly minted parents infatuated with their brood. The cause: a troupe of adorable bambine from Staten Island Ballet performing Ellen Tharp's 'Tarantella'. Though only one of these girls was delivering the movement nel modo Italiano, they were all so lively with their tambourine strikes and hops that even the most curmudgeonly of audience members applauded with gusto.

The Hartt School Community Division (HCD) Dance Department presents an evening of ballet-The Kingdom Of The Shades from the full-length ballet La Bayadere, Aurora's Wedding from the ballet classic The Sleeping Beauty, and two ballets by legendary choreographer Antony Tudor-today, July 23, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in Millard Auditorium at the University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford.

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, announces a national call for ALAANA (African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications for The Joffrey Academy's Seventh Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition.

World-renowned ballet artists will share the stage for one spectacular night of dance at Festival Ballet Theatre's Gala of the Stars Friday, August 12, 2016 at 6pm.
