Amber Riley and her DREAMGIRLS co-star, Liisi LaFontaine, dropped in on The Radio 2 Arts Show this week in support of their West End run in in the first ever UK production of the 1980's classic musical, Dreamgirls. Watch the video below to catch a re-tooled version of the Oscar-nominated song, 'Listen', originally performed in the film version of the musical and originated by Beyonce.  

Leading West End producer Sonia Friedman has been very vocal about her opinion of the BBC talent show, 'Let it Shine,' claiming she has a 'moral issue.'

Effie might indeed be going... to Broadway. According to the New York Post, London producer Sonia Friedman is already looking for a Broadway Theater to transfer the West End production, which has been bringing audiences to their feet nightly.

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, producers of the West End revival of Dreamgirls announced that Amber Riley, who has missed the last several performances of the show, has been diagnosed with pneumonia.

Producers of the West End revival of DREAMGIRLS turned to Twitter today to announce that Amber Riley, who has missed the last several performances of the show, has been diagnosed with pneumonia.

For UK audiences, Dreamgirls will be more familiar from the critically acclaimed 2006 film, but incredibly, the iconic musical started life on Broadway all the way back in 1981. The UK debut of the stage show has been a long time coming, but is resolutely worth the wait.

At a ceremony held today at London's Cafe de Paris, host Steve Furst announced the nominees for the 17th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards, the only major theatre prize-giving decided entirely by the theatregoers themselves.
