Mixed Blood Theatre is thrilled to announce that, following its 40th Anniversary gala, 'Revelry: A Red-Tie Affair', it will continue the celebration with an after-party from 9:30-11:30pm at Paisley Park. For $40, guests are invited to a dance party helmed by DJ Breakbeat Lou (Co-Creator of Ultimate Breaks and Beats), accompanied by late night snacks, drinks and a cash bar, games and a predictably unpredictable celebration!
Mixed Blood Theatre's 40th Anniversary Gala will take place on the spring evening of May 14th, 2016, at Paisley Park Studios, the home and recording studio of Minnesota's favorite international recording artist, Prince. Mixed Blood's guests will spend an evening dancing, sipping cocktails, wine and beer, sampling fresh and modern fare at the many food stations, browsing the silent auction for trips, gifts, and adventures, and getting down to the sounds of incredible local musicians.
Embracing windows of opportunity, Mixed Blood (now in its 40th season) adds, loses, and maintains its cadre of versatile artist administrators to continually reinvent itself as makers of art, social change agents, and anchors in its community, with a stable, disciplined financial model.
New Prague's professional theatre company opened the first production of its inaugural season on May 31st, 2013 - New Prague is home to a professional theatre company. DalekoArts, the young company headed up by New Prague native Ben Thietje and his wife Amanda White, opened its inaugural season with Neil Simon's The Odd Couple last Friday, June 7th at 7:30pm at the New Prague Middle School.
The Mixed Blood Theatre Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda White Thietje as Managing Director to launch the company's 37th season. She steps into the position following the retirement of Pj Doyle, Managing Director since 2009. Concurrently, long-time Mixed Blood Director of Touring Charlie Moore will assume the newly-created position of General Manager.
Amanda Whites is a vital member of Dance Theatre of Tennessee's company and, like all the other company dancers, she's hard at work on the season-opening tribute to ballet mistress Elaine Thomas on the occasion of her 75th birthday. Yet, somehow, she found time to consider our questions and to give some thoughtful answers to our regular queries in our continued attempt to get inside the minds of all the talented dancers in the Nashville area.
In an exhilarating and exciting journey that was at once joyful and provocative, dazzling and erotic, the artists of Dance Theatre of Tennessee took audiences through all the differing Aspects of Love with the company's latest series - a late-arriving Valentine for lovers of the dance. Staged artfully and confidently, DTT's latest offerings demonstrate beautifully how far the company has come during its short history, firmly and exuberantly claiming its place among the most daring companies to be found.

In the middle of a howling snowstorm, a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a cheerful roadside diner. All roads are blocked, and four or five weary travelers are going to have to hole up until morning.
